Rowdy’s Revenge 251
to be Moved to Accommodate Eldora Prelude to the Dream
NASCAR Champion Bill
Elliott to Sign Autographs, son Chase to Race
Marne, MI – Berlin Raceway has
been in recent talks with NASCAR stars Kyle Busch and Bill Elliott
regarding the running of the Rowdy’s Revenge 251. Due to a scheduling
conflict with Eldora Speedway’s annual Prelude to the Dream, Berlin
Raceway
has
decided to move the date of the event one week later to Tuesday, June
15.
The Prelude to the Dream each year makes
a major contribution to a well-known charity organization, and Berlin
Raceway Owner Michael Blackmer has decided to not hinder those efforts
by running a conflicting race.
“We know how big the Prelude race at
Eldora is and we don’t want to take anything away from it. Kyle and
his group worked nicely with us and agreed to still race at Berlin
that night, but we want him to be at Eldora to help raise money for
charity,” said Michael Blackmer.
The CRA Super Series sanctioned event
will be raced on Tuesday night rather than Wednesday, will now also
feature 15-year-old Chase Elliott, who will drive his family owned #9
Aaron’s Ford. Chase is the son of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion
Bill Elliott, who will be on hand to sign autographs on Tuesday night
for fans as well.
Kyle Busch will again make his return to
Berlin Raceway in an effort to capture the checkered flag from local
favorite and defending race winner Brian Campbell. This year’s CRA
Super Series event will pay a potential $25,000-to-win and a stout
field of cars is expected. Also, raceway officials have hinted at
possible additional NASCAR drivers to be in competition on June 15.
The Rowdy’s Revenge 251 presented by
Keysers Port City Racing will be the highest paying template body
race in the tracks 60-year history. Open practice for all
competitors will take place on Monday June 14 presented by Auto Body
Xperts CARSTAR.
