John Long to
Compete for CRA Super Series Rookie of the Year Honors
Salem, IN (February 25, 2010) –
Niles, Michigan racer John Long has announced that
he will compete
full time with the CRA Super Series in 2010 with the goal of winning
the 2010 CRA Super Series Rookie of the Year Award. Long competed in
five series events in 2009, three point events and two non-point
events, with a best finish of eighth at the September Baer Field
Speedway event. He also raced with the series at Plymouth Speedway,
Toledo Speedway, Berlin Raceway and in the North/South Shootout at
Concord Speedway.
In 2008 Long competed in two CRA
Super Series events at Plymouth and Toledo. Long has also raced an
Outlaw Super Late Model the past several seasons, he won the 2007
Summer Sizzler at New Paris Speedway which paid $20,000 to win, he
finished 10th in that race this past August, CRA’s Scott
Hantz got the win. Long is also a former competitor in the USA
Modified Series were he went to victory
lane at Toledo Speedway in
2008 and finished 14th in season points that year. Long was
a Street Stock Rookie of the Year and Most Improved Driver Award
winner at New Paris Speedway earlier in his racing career and was a
Rookie of the Year in their Outlaw Super Late Model division.
Long competed in the 44th
Annual World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing during Speed Weeks
earlier this month at New Smyrna Speedway. He finished 10th
in points for the week in the Super Late Model Division before a hard
crash destroyed his racecar on the final night of racing. Long has
ordered a Perfect Circle Racecars Chassis that he will compete with in
the CRA Super Series in 2010. John currently has a web site under
