CRA Super Series
Voted Best Tour in Speed 51 Short Track Awards
Salem, IN (February 25, 2010)
– The CRA Super Series was voted the Best Tour Award in the Speed 51
Short Track Awards that were recently conducted by Speed 51.com, one
of the leading short track web sites in the country. Speed51.com had
fans and racers from all over the country vote on a broad range of
awards the past couple of months through their web site and announced
the first half of those award winners on last nights 51 Radio Show
broadcasted live on RaceTalkRadio.com. The second half of the award
results will be announced on next
Tuesday nights show.
"We are very proud to receive this
award," remarked R.J. Scott, Managing Partner of Champion Racing
Association. "It means a lot when you have people from all over the
country vote on awards like this and our series is recognized as the
best. I want to thank all our loyal fans, racers and sponsors for
their support. I look forward to another great season of CRA Super
Series racing in 2010!"
A quote from the Speed 51 story on
the results read, "Fans are always loyal to ‘their’ short track tour
and lately more and more of those fans have been drawn to the CRA
Super Series. The CRA is one of several Super Late Model tours
across the country that are enjoying relative success right now in
down economic times. Fans across the Midwest have grown to enjoy
watching their tourers like Johnny VanDoorn and Scott Hantz do battle
with invaders like Kyle Busch in the big CRA shows. The series
has even gotten involved with several large Southern events such as
The Rattler and SpeedFest, to grow their fan base even more."
"Wow, I was really surprised by the
results," remarked Glenn Luckett, CRA Super Series Director. "I knew
that people from all over the country would be voting on these awards
so I thought it would be tough for us to win that category. I want to
thank everyone that voted for us and thank Speed 51 for doing such a
great job of supporting and covering short track racing!"
The CRA Super Series just beat out
the NASCAR Whelen Modified tour by less than four percentage points,
which has a huge Northeast fan base. The ASA Midwest Series finished
in third place in the voting.
