Lead Perfect Circle Racecars Rookie of the Year Standings
Salem, IN (August 11, 2010) –
John Long continues to lead the Perfect Circle Racecars Rookie of the
Year Standings after six CRA Super Series points events to date
heading into this Friday’s Klotz Synthetic Lubricants 100 Presented by
Spray Power event at Toledo Speedway. The highest finishing registered
rookie in the Perfect Circle Racecars Rookie of the Year Standings,
which will be the driver who accumulates the most points in their best
10 series point races of the 12 scheduled for the 2010 season, will
receive
the
Perfect Circle Racecars Rookie of the Year Award at the 2010 Champion
Racing Association Awards Banquet.
Long’s adjusted rookie point total to
date is now 286 points after he sat out the series last event on July
26th at Anderson Speedway. Surprising rookie driver Jay
Niewiek has closed to within 16 points of Long after going from fifth
place to second place in the Perfect Circle Racecars Rookie standing
after the Anderson event. Niewiek missed the first two series events
of the season, but has come on strong over the last four series
events, which were his first ever races in a full size racecar!
Colin Nickolai remains in third place
with 266 points after not making the Anderson event after damage from
a crash in the last chance race. Nickolai is the only rookie
competitor to try and compete in every series event so far this season
and is currently ninth in series Championship points. Nick Gullatta is
in fourth place, he also sat out the series last event. Tony Dager is
in fifth place, he also did not make the Anderson event after damage
from a crash in the last chance race.
Long has been the Perfect Circle
Racecars Rookie of the Race Award winner at three series events to
date at Berlin Raceway, Winchester Speedway and Angola Motor Speedway,
using his new Perfect Circle Racecar. Niewiek used his Perfect Circle
Racecar to claim the Rookie of the Race Award at the series last event
at Anderson. Dager was the award winner at the series season opener at
Anderson. Gullatta was the award winner at the series event at
Plymouth Speedway on July 11th.
