Salem, IN (April 6, 2010) – After a cold and snowy winter, the 2010 racing season is set to begin in Northern Indiana this Sunday with the Cabin Fever 200 Presented by the Newton Center at Plymouth Speedway. The event will feature the season opening events for three divisions with Champion Racing Association, including the Howe CRA Late Model Sportsman Series, the CRA Street Stocks and the Vores Welding & Steel CRA FWD Compacts, CRA officials are expecting close to 100 cars for Sunday’s show. Fans will be treated to 200 laps of feature racing action between the three divisions for only $10.

Sunday’s event will be the first of two shows for the Howe CRA Late Model Sportsman Series at Plymouth Speedway in 2010. Last year that division also had two shows at Plymouth with over 30 cars entering each event, Justin Alsip and Steve Minich Jr. came away with victories in those events. The CRA Street Stocks will also have two shows at Plymouth in 2010. Last year Robbie Henderson got his first ever CRA Street Stock victory in the Plymouth event, leading all 50 laps in getting the victory over the 30 other cars that entered the event. The Vores Welding & Steel CRA FWD Compacts will have a total of four events at Plymouth in 2010 including a doubleheader on July 11^th and 12^th. Mark Mason got his first ever CRA victory in last seasons CRA FWD event at Plymouth, besting the 23 cars that competed in that event.

There will be an open practice on Saturday from noon until dark. Pit gates open on Sunday morning at 9am, practice will begin at 11am with qualifying at 12:30pm. The race program will begin at 2pm with any last chance races that are needed. The CRA Street Stocks will be up first with a 75 lap feature, followed by the Howe CRA Late Model Sportsman Series in a 75 lap feature, then the Vores Welding & Steel CRA FWD Compacts will cap off the afternoon with a 50 lap feature. Plymouth Speedway and CRA are making the Cabin Fever 200 Presented by the Newton Center available nationwide as a Pay-Per-View event, broadcasting live from Plymouth Speedway at 2pm for those fans who can’t make it out.
