Special from On Track Ministries
On Track Ministries
Named Official Chaplain Ministry for Winchester Speedway and the CRA
Super Series
(April 27, 2010) - Winchester
Speedway and Champion Racing Association officials are pleased to
announce that On Track Ministries will begin serving as the official
chaplain ministry for Winchester Speedway and the CRA Super Series. On
Track Ministries has been serving the racing community throughout the
Midwest for the past 14 years, as well as directing the fan outreach
ministry for Indianapolis Motor Speedway. On Track Ministries serves
in cooperation with the National Fellowship of Raceway Ministries in
providing chaplains for local tracks, regional series and large track
fan outreach. The On Track Ministries team will be made up of
chaplains David Martin, Larry Avery and Andy Griffith.
On Track Ministries approach is based
on hanging out, building relationships and serving the racing
community. It is our goal to be consistently available and
approachable to those we serve. It is a ministry centered on
sensitivity to the needs of those to whom we are ministering. We do
not push our way into ministering to those who do not want it. We
provide services of caring and availability in time of need.
David Martin, the founder of On Track
Ministries stated, "Over the years chaplains from NASCAR, regional
series', and local tracks have become an important part of the racing
landscape. We are honored to have the privilege of serving the racing
community at Winchester Speedway and the CRA Super Series. We are
looking forward to building lasting relationships at the track and in
the series."
"We are very excited to begin this
new relationship with On Track Ministries," remarked Greg Wood,
Director of Operations for Champion Racing Association. "In the past,
a number of CRA racers and fans have taken advantage of the various
Chaplin programs associated with our series. I really like the
approach that David Martin is taking with this ministry. I believe
that members of the CRA family will benefit from being a part of what
they have to offer."
