Howe CRA Late
Model Sportsman at Angola Motor Speedway this Saturday
Salem, IN (April 26, 2010) –
The Howe CRA Late Model Sportsman Series will return to action this
Saturday in the ProFab 75 Presented by Ingledue Construction at Angola
Motor Speedway. Saturday night will be ProFab "Pack the House Night"
at
Angola Motor Speedway with a special admission price of $20 a carload.
The first 500 fans will receive a free seat cushion.
Saturday’s race will be the third
Howe CRA Late Model Sportsman Series event held at Angola Motor
Speedway. Last year Steve Minich Jr. took the lead on lap 46 then had
to hold off hardcharging Tony Dager to get the win. Billy Hutson
finished in third, Lou Stremme in fourth and Rick Rinehart in fifth.
Keith Sterkowitz comes into
Saturday’s event as the series point’s leader after getting his first
ever series victory in the series season opener at Plymouth Speedway
on April 11th. The 2006 Howe CRA Late Model Sportsman
Series Champion has a four-point lead over Derrick Griffin, the
All-Star Performance Fast Qualifier at Plymouth. Plymouth runner-up
Joe Beaver is in third place, five points behind Griffin. Ft. Wayne
native Al Cook Jr. is in fourth place, three points behind Beaver.
Last season’s rookie of the year Steve Stacy is in fifth place, four
points behind Cook Jr.

In all there were 34 cars on hand for
the series season opener including several new names that will be
running for rookie of the year honors this season including Michigan’s
Bill Hartman and Ryan Schnabel, Ohio’s Howard Kelly Jr. and Bill
Griffith, Southern Indiana native Brett Robinson and Angola’s own
David Campbell. Angola native Kale Asztalos, who led the first 45 laps
of last year’s event, is excepted to make his 2010 series debut
Saturday. Spencerville native Tony Dager has built a new car to
compete in selected events with the series this season including this
Saturday’s event.
There will be an open practice on
Friday night from 5 to 8pm. Pit gates will open on Saturday at 1pm.
Practice will begin at 3pm with qualifying at 5pm. The race program
will begin at 7pm and will include the ProFab 75 Presented by Ingledue
Construction for the Howe CRA Late Model Sportsman Series. Also racing
that night will be Angola’s Modifieds, Mini Stocks and FWD’s. More
