Howe CRA Late Model
Sportsman Series at Anderson Speedway Saturday
Salem, IN (September 15, 2009)
– The Howe CRA Late Model Sportsman Series will make it’s third and
final visit to Anderson Speedway this Saturday night. The world’s
fastest quarter mile speedway has had five previous series events with
no repeat winners. Charlie Hanna started the 2009 season with a
victory at Anderson in the series season opener on April 18th
while Jason Atkinson turned his first ever start with the series into
a victory on August 8th. 2008 series Champion Tony Dager,
Steve Blair and Al Cook Jr. have also gotten
series
victories at Anderson Speedway.
For the first time since June the
series has a new points leader heading into Saturday night’s event.
Hanna has taken over the points lead from Steve Minich Jr. after
Minich Jr. was caught up in an accident at the series last event on
September 7th at Winchester Speedway, resulting in a 19th
place finish while Hanna came home second to event winner Terry Jones.
Hanna had the series points lead after the first event, but Minich Jr.
took over after his victory in the series second event of the season
at Baer Field Speedway. Hanna has a 20 point lead over Minich Jr. with
only three series points events left in the 2009 season.
Leading series rookie Steve Stacy is
currently third in series points, he is 28 points behind Minich Jr.

Anderson Speedw ay.
