CRA FWD Compacts to Race at Anderson Speedway Saturday
Salem, IN (September 11, 2009)
– The Vore’s Welding & Steel CRA FWD Compacts will make there first
ever appearance at Anderson Speedway this Saturday, September 12th.
The event will pit the best of the series against the best Anderson
Speedway FWD drivers on the world’s fastest quarter mile.
With
this event every series with CRA will have competed in at least one
event at Anderson during the 2009 season.
Tim Dilg comes into Saturday’s event
as the series points leader by 60 points over 2008 Champion Rex
Zimmerman with four events left on the 2009 schedule. Dilg won the
season’s opening event for the series at Winchester Speedway and has
maintained the point lead through out the season with steady top 10
finishes. Zimmerman also has one victory in 2009. Brian Redmond is
currently third in series points, he is 29 points behind Zimmermman
and he also has one victory in 2009. Leading series rookie Justin
Brown has now moved into fourth place, one point ahead of fifth place
Bill Charles, who has one series point’s
victory in 2009. Jordan Flynn and the #14 car owned by Blaine Miller
are tied for sixth place, only one point behind Charles.
Jeff Saxon comes into Saturday
night’s event with a commanding lead in points in the Anderson
Speedway FWD Oval division. Gary Bragg Jr. is in second, Kevin Harmon
is third, Jack Leisure is fourth and Gary Bragg is fifth.
Saturday will be Fan Appreciation
Night with $5 General Admission Tickets for adults. Also racing that
night will be the Anderson Speedway Street Stocks and Figure 8’s. The
event will also feature kids bicycle races. Pit gates will open at 4pm
with practice beginning at 5pm. Qualifying will take place at 6:30pm.
The race program will begin at 8pm and will include 10 lap heat races
and a 30 lap feature for the Vore’s Welding & Steel CRA FWD Compacts.
