Hantz Wins Scott Performance Wire Four State Challenge

Salem, IN (October 13, 2009) – Three-time series Champion Scott Hantz has won the Scott Performance Wire Four State Challenge for the fourth time and his second in a row. The Scott Performance Wire Four State Challenge is an award program based upon four selected CRA Super Series points events in the four states the series had point events in 2009. The Challenge started with the July 27th event at Anderson Speedway located in Anderson, Indiana were Hantz came away with 94 points. The second event in the Challenge was the August 14th event at Toledo Speedway, located in Toledo, Ohio were Hantz won the event and came away with 106 points. The third event of the Challenge was the Budweiser 150 at the Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville, Tennessee on August 23rd were Hantz won again. The final event was at Berlin Raceway located in Marne, Michigan this past Saturday were Hantz finished in fifth place, but was also the events EDCO Welding Fast Qualifier, giving him 100 points for the event, giving him an impressive total of 405 points for the four events involved.

Current series points leader John VanDoorn finished in second, just beating out Rick Turner by only two points, 364 to 362. Turner was ahead of VanDoorn by seven points coming into Saturday’s event, but VanDoorn finished two spots ahead of Turner in the race and picked up five qualifying points with Turner getting no qualifying points, giving VanDoorn nine more points then Turner. Kenny Tweedy finished in fourth place and rookie Tyler Roahrig in fifth place in the Challenge.

The Scott Performance Wire will award Scott Hantz a $700 bonus and set of Scott Performance Wires for winning the 2009 Scott Performance Wire Four State Challenge at the series awards banquet in January. John VanDoorn will receive a $500 bonus for his second place effort. Rick Turner will receive a $300 bonus for his third place effort. Scott Performance Wire will also award the 2009 CRA Super Series Champion with a set of Scott Performance Wires and an additional set of Scott Performance Wires that will be given away by random draw of the top fifteen teams in final series points at the 2009 series awards banquet.
