Salem, IN (November 13, 2009) – Champion Racing Association has announced that the 2009 Champion Racing Association Awards Banquet will be held at Indiana Downs in Shelbyville, Indiana located at 4200 N. Michigan Road, just off Exit 109 (Fairland Road) of I-74. The 2009 Awards Banquet will be held on Saturday evening, January 9, 2010 at the main Banquet Room at Indiana Downs. The 2009 Champion Racing Association Champions will be honored in the CRA Super Series, Howe CRA Late Model Sportsman Series, CRA Street Stocks and Vore’s Welding & Steel CRA FWD Compacts, along with all the top fifteen teams in 2009 CRA Super Series Owners Points and the top ten finishers in Owner Points in the other three CRA Divisions.

The CRA Super Series 2009 K & N Filters Rookie Of The Year Award winner with the CRA Super Series will be honored and will lead a group of selected CRA Super Series drivers and teams that will be awarded individual special awards at the Awards Banquet including the A.T. Performance/Acro-Tech Sportsman Of The Year Award, the Darrell Teal Dedication Award and the Cometic Gasket Hard Luck Award. There will also be the Rookie Of The Year and Sportsman of the Year Awards for the CRA Late Model Sportsman, the CRA Street Stocks and the CRA FWD Compacts.

There will be a reception to start the evening’s events at 6PM, followed by a buffet dinner at 7PM, with the awards ceremony immediately following at approximately 8:00PM. There will be several special announcements made concerning the 2010-racing season, and there will be several product items that will be given away by random draw of any team present for each division.

Some of the products that will be given away by random draw include a complete body from Five Star Racecar Bodies and a $500 Product Certificate from ARP Stock Car Bodies for both the Super Series and Late Model Sportsman, a $250 Product Certificate from Five Star Racecar Bodies and a $100 Product Certificate from ARP Stock Car Bodies for the Street Stocks. A set of Schoenfeld Headers, a set of wheels from Bassett Racing Wheels and a set of wheels from Aero Racing Wheels for the Super Series, Late Model Sportsman and Street Stocks. There will be a Race Cover-alls Canopy given away in each CRA Division. A Racing Helmet and Race Shoes from Impact Racing and a $1000 and a $500 Product Certificate from McGunegill Engine Performance for the Late Model Sportsman and Street Stocks. Additional giveaways for the Super Series includes a racing seat from Butlerbuilt Safety Systems, Quick Change Exchange Rearend Product, $300 in Product Certificates from Leaf Racewear, a set of Scott Performance Wires, a set of Racerspacers and a $200 Product Certificate from Cometic Gasket.

RSVP’s for the banquet will need to be sent in by December 29^th, teams and guest will be able to download a banquet invitation off the CRA web site. A host hotel for the awards banquet will be announced at a later date.
