Leavitt Racing Components to Sponsor CRA Super Series South

Mooresville, NC (May 22, 2009) – Leavitt Racing Components is proud to announce a contingency sponsorship with the newly formed CRA Super Series South for their remaining 2009 season. The CRA Super Series South had its inaugural event on April 4th at Watermelon Capital Speedway.

Leavitt Racing Components will provide a $75.00 gift certificate to the 6th place finisher and year-end awards yet to be announced. Leavitt Racing Components President, Stephen Leavitt stated "The CRA Super Series has a great reputation and we are happy to work with them through the remainder of the southern series events. We wish them the best of luck in this new endeavor and hope to see the series grow throughout the south and have the same success they have in the Midwest. "

The Champion Racing Association (CRA) is a racing sanctioning body that primarily oversees the scheduling, administering, and officiating of the CRA Super Series for Super Late Models.

The series utilizes stock appearing cars, which resemble the Monte Carlo, Fusion, and Charger we see on the street today. The typical engines are 358 cubic inches and have a compression ratio of 9 to 1, and use aluminum heads. Atop the engine is a modified NASCAR-legal 390-cfm carburetor. The suspension and frames are designed specifically for racing and the safety requirements needed. The car rides on a mandated Hoosier Racing Tires, which are mounted on 10-inch wide wheels.
