Salem, IN (March 20, 2009) – CRA Super Series Officials are pleased to announce that EDCO Welding & Hydraulic Service has signed on as the sponsor of the EDCO Welding Fast Qualifier Award with the CRA Super Series for the upcoming 2009 racing season, beginning with the CRA Super Series season opener at Anderson Speedway on Saturday, April 11^th.

"We are very excited to be a sponsor with the CRA Super Series in 2009," remarked EDCO Welding proprietors Eddie and Donna Van Meter. "We have been involved with the CRA Super Series as competitors for several seasons and look forward to having our company work with the series through out the 2009 season and support each events fast qualifier!"

Each event’s EDCO Welding Fast Qualifier will receive a $100 bonus from EDCO Welding, except for the EDCO Welding Fast Qualifier of the Winchester 400 and the Music City All American 400 in Nashville, at those events the bonus from EDCO Welding will be $200. In order to receive the bonus, each events fast qualifier must have EDCO Welding stickers properly placed on both sides of their racecar prior to making their qualifying attempt, if not, the bonus will be carried over to the next series event, doubling that events fast qualifier award.

EDCO Welding & Hydraulic Service has certified welding services for specialty machinery, prototypes, components, tolling and fixtures. Their capabilities include MIG & TIG welding as well as the capacity for large precision weldments. EDCO specializes in light gauge sheet metal fabrication, especially carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum sheet stock up to a quarter inch thick. Eddie Van Meter first raced with the CRA Super Series in 1999, he competed full-time with the series from 2000 through the 2006 season finishing as high as second in series driver points during the 2005 season. He got his first series win at Angola Motor Speedway in July of 2006. He has 123 series starts to date with 22 top fives and 47 top ten finishes. Since 2007 Van Meter has been a part-time competitor with the series, returning to compete full-time in the Late Model Division at the Indianapolis Speedrome with car owner Billy Skiles were he finished third in final points in 2008 after getting several wins and leading the points for most of the season until an accident took him out early in the Season Championship event.

Eddie’s son Billy is also a full-time competitor at the Indianapolis Speedrome in the Hoosier Legend Series after being a two time Champion in the tracks Junior Fastkart division. EDCO Welding recently became the new title sponsor of the Indianapolis Speedrome.
