Cleaner to Sponsor Summer Championship 200 At Plymouth Sunday

to Race in Front of Hometown Fans
Salem, IN (July 8, 2009) –
Champion Racing Association officials have announced that Crown RV &
Boat Cleaner will be a Presenting Sponsor of this Sunday’s Summer
Championship 200 CRA Super Series event at Plymouth Speedway located
in Plymouth, Indiana. The event will feature NASCAR Sprint Cup driver
David Stremme, a South Bend, Indiana native and former competitor with
the CRA Super Series and winner of last season’s Winchester 400,
competing against the best racers with the CRA Super
Series
and several of the top racers from the Mid-west.
Stremme will be competing in Saturday
night’s NASCAR Sprint Cup event at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet,
Illinois. Stremme will make the trip over to Plymouth on Sunday to
compete in his own CRA Super Series car as well as talk with his fans
and sign autographs. Stremme races for famed car owner Rodger Penske
in the #12 Dodge and is a teammate to Kurt Busch and Sam Hornish.
Stremme will have plenty of
competition in Sunday’s race led by three time series Champion Scott
Hantz and Johnny VanDoorn who are currently tied for the series points
lead with 407 points apiece. Hantz is the series all time win leader
with 24 victories, including a series leading three victories at
Plymouth. VanDoorn has a series leading two victories so far in the
2009 season.
Other top series drivers expected to
compete Sunday include last year’s Summer Championship 200 winner
Boris Jurkovic, the father and son team of JR Roahrig and Tyler
Roahrig from nearby Mishawaka, Indiana, Aaron Pierce who got his
series high finish of second at last season’s event. Also Rick Turner,
Terry Fisher Jr., Jason Shively, Jason Dietsch, Kenny Tweedy, series
rookie competitors Brandon Fagin, Zach Hulvey, Nick Lay, Justin Matson
and Damon Ecoff.
Mid-west racing legend Eddie Hoffman
is entered for Sunday’s event, Hoffman is tied for sixth all time in
series victories with seven. Mike Kugler, a regular with the SuperPro
Series is entered. Kugler scored his first ever CRA Super Series
victory last Saturday at Angola Motor Speedway. Part-time series
competitor Jack Landis has entered along with 2008 CRA Late Model
Sportsman Series Champion Tony Dager, Berlin Raceway’s Chris Koslek
who finished second in the Rowdy Busch 125 in June at Berlin, New
Paris Speedway Champion Donny Klotz, and Plymouth Late Model
competitor Michael "Pork Chop" Thayer. Other drivers entered include
John Long, Joe O’Connor, Doug Hayes and Steven Brooks.
The CRA Street Stocks and Vore’s
Welding & Steel CRA FWD Compacts will also be in action Sunday night.
Jason Thompson has the points lead with the Street Stocks by five
points over veteran competitor Joe Beaver. Josh Burton is third with
Brian Hopkins fourth and Rich Boyer fifth. Bill Charles leads the FWD
Compact points by seven over Tim Dilg. Jordan Flynn is in third with
2008 series Champion Rex Zimmerman in fourth and Brian Redmond in
fifth place. Both those divisions will be competing against the
Plymouth regulars on Sunday.

Pit gates will open on Sunday at 1pm,
spectator gates at 3pm. Practice will begin at 3:30pm with qualifying
at 5:45pm. There will be an autograph session with David Stremme and
the CRA Super Series drivers beginning at 6:30pm in the Pavilion
behind turn four of the racetrack. The racing program will begin at
7pm with the CRA Super Series Last Chance race, then the 30-lap
feature for the Vore’s Welding & Steel CRA FWD Compacts. The Summer
Championship 200 Presented by Crown RV & Boat Cleaner for the CRA
Super Series will be next with the 50-lap CRA Street Stock feature to
end the night. General Admission tickets will be on sale at the gate
for $18 for adults, students 6 to 17 will be $5, kids 5 and under will
be free.
