Competitors David Stremme and Stephen Wallace Enter SpeedFest 2010
Salem, IN (December 19, 2009)
– CRA and Lanier National Speedway officials have announced that
NASCAR competitors David Stremme and Stephen Wallace have both filed
entries for the upcoming SpeedFest 2010 on January 31st at
Lanier National Speedway. Stremme is a former CRA Super Series regular
competitor prior to his ascension to the NASCAR ranks. The South Bend,
Indiana native has three CRA wins in all including a win in the famed
Winchester 400 in 2008 and last seasons CRA Summer Championship 200 at
Plymouth Speedway. Stremme got his first series win in 1999 at Salem
Speedway. Stremme competed last season in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series
with Penske Racing.

Wallace will be competing in his
first ever CRA Super Series event, but he does have plenty of
experience in a late model including a third place finish in the
December 6th Snowball Derby, and a win in the Derby in
2004. Wallace will be competing in a late model owned by famed crew
chief Richie Wauters. Wallace was a full-time competitor in the NASCAR
Nationwide Series in 2009 driving for his father NASCAR great Rusty
Wallace.
Stremme and Wallace join fellow
NASCAR competitor Kyle Busch as a strong start to the list of great
competitors that will be competing in SpeedFest 2010. Additional
entries for the event will be announced soon. The advanced entry
deadline for the event is January 15th.
The CRA portion of SpeedFest 2010
will be 250 laps with a break at lap 125 for teams to work on their
cars and change tires. It will be an eight tire event. The leader at
lap 125 will receive a $2000 bonus, the second place driver $1000,
third place will receive $750, fourth place $500 and fifth place $250.
The halfway leader will then draw for an invert for the start of the
second half, the invert could be a three to a possible six. The winner
of the
event
will receive $8000. The 150 lap Pro Late Model event will pay $3000 to
win. There will be a $10,000 bonus if a driver can win both events!
There will be an open practice on
Friday, January 29th. Practice and qualifying will take
place on Saturday, January 30th. The late model feature
events will be ran on Sunday, January 31st in the
afternoon. More information on the event and information on the Pro
