Hamner Racing
Engines to Sponsor CRA Super Series South Award
Salem, IN (April 28, 2009) –
Champion Racing Association Officials have announced that Hamner
Racing Engines will be the sponsor of the Hamner Racing Engines Fast
Lap of the Race Award with the CRA Super Series South for all the
remaining events on the series 2009 schedule. The driver turning the
fastest lap during the feature race at each series event will receive
a $100 Product Certificate from Hamner Racing Engines. In addition
Hamner Racing Engines will support the series with some season ending
awards at the series 2009 awards banquet.

Hamner Racing Engines are built and
maintained primarily for short track racing, concentrating in the
race-intensive Southeast. They build and prepare motors for Super Late
Model racing across the country including the Pro All Star Series
(PASS), the Blizzard Series, the Viper Series, and with the CRA Super
Series and CRA Super Series South. Their short-track motors are Ford
and Chevy engines.
After working for his dad in an
engine related business, Jeff Hamner ventured out on his own with the
help of former NASCAR Cup driver Gary Bradberry and his team
operation. In 1996, Jeff began his own family business in McCalla, AL.
His goal was to take the business to the next level by building short
track/touring series racing engines. The company gained exposure in
1996 by winning the Hooter's Series Championship and NASCAR Southwest
Tour. After six years, several poles, wins, and championships later,
the business moved to a new facility in West Blocton, AL.
Hamner Racing Engines have had
success with their 9 to 1 Engines, their Steel Head Engines and their
recently developed cost effective Sealed Engine. Kyle Busch used a
Hamner Racing Engine to win this past January’s SpeedFest 2009 CRA
event at Lanier National Speedway. Johanna Long used a Hamner Racing
Engine to win the April 10th Blizzard Series event at Five Flags
Speedway, her first ever Super Late Model win. Other top Late Model
racers using Hamner Racing Engines include Scott Carlson, Brandon
Carlson, Donnie Wilson, Ryan Lawler, Josh Hamner, Ryan Sieg and Scot
Walters.
