Busch and Stremme To Test CRA Late Models At Winchester Speedway Monday

Winchester, IN (September 24, 2008) – NASCAR competitors Kyle Busch and David Stremme have scheduled a test session with their CRA Super Series Late Models for this Monday, September 29th in preparation for the upcoming 37th Annual Winchester 400 Presented By Ed Martin Auto Group and Renegade on October 12th. Busch is currently 12th in the Chase with the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series after being the series point's leader for most of the season. Busch is the season leader in wins in Cup with eight to date and is also the win leader in the NASCAR Nationwide Series with eight and has three NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series wins as well.

This will be the fourth CRA Super Series event that the Las Vegas, Nevada native has competed in at Winchester Speedway. In 2002 Busch competed in the Car Brite 200, but a broken wheel early in the event put Busch down four laps. Busch was able to make up three of those laps and managed a ninth place finish, the first car one lap down. In 2003 Busch returned to Winchester to compete in the CRA Super Series sanctioned Car Brite Winchester 400, Busch's day ended on lap 130 from damage in an accident. Busch returned last year to again compete in the Winchester 400, Busch's day ended on lap 85 after a broken wheel sheared off the wheel studs on the right rear of his #51 late model. Busch's goal is to get his name on the Winchester 400 winners T-shirt that is printed for every event.

Stremme, the popular South Bend, Indiana native, raced many times at Winchester Speedway during the development of his career while racing with the CRA Super Series and the American Speed Association. Stremme is also a former track record holder at Winchester and has a CRA Super Series victory at the similarly high-banked Salem Speedway. Stremme is a long time friend of Winchester Speedway owner Charlie Shaw, who helped Stremme in his early days of late model racing. Stremme is currently 12th in NASCAR Nationwide Series points driving for car owner Rusty Wallace. Stremme was signed earlier this year as a test driver for Penske Racing and has been named as the replacement for Ryan Newman in Penske's #12 Cup car in 2009.

In last years Winchester 400 Stremme came from his 35th place starting position to lead laps 165 through 215, and then lead again from lap 277 until lap 310, giving the lead to eventual winner Ryan Lawler after making a pit stop. Stremme would hang on to finish third, the last car on the lead lap, even after his car's handling went away when his left rear wheel started coming loose after losing three lug nuts while charging from the rear of the lead laps cars after pitting.

Busch and Stremme both own the late models they will test Monday and compete with in the Winchester 400. The test session is tentatively scheduled to begin at around 10am on Monday. The teams will take a break from 11:30am until 12:30pm for a Press Conference in the speedway's Hospitality Room to promote the Winchester 400. Busch and Stremme will then return to the track for more testing during the afternoon. The public is invited to come out and watch the test from the grandstands at no charge, the pit area will be off limits to the public.

The 37th Annual Winchester 400 Presented By Ed Martin Auto Group and Renegade will pay the winner $12,000, plus another possible $10,000 will be available in lap leader bonus money. There will also be a $3,700 bonus available to any former Winchester 400 winner or non CRA Super Series regular if they can win the 37th Annual Winchester 400 and $3000 in traveling bonuses to the top three finishing non-series regulars.
