The Boyne at Berlin
Will Offer the Chance for Some Double-duty for 16-year-old Chad Finley
DeWitt, Michigan (Wednesday, September 10, 2008): Berlin
Raceway, located West of Grand Rapids in Marne, Michigan is widely
known as one of the premiere motorsports facilities in the state of
Michigan.
One of the biggest racing weekends in the Great Lakes States is here
and after a recent string of bad luck racing in the ASA Late Model
Series, 16-year-old Chad Finley is looking forward to racing not only
in a different racing series for the first time in his career, he'll
also be pulling double duty as well!
The wildly popular "Boyne at Berlin" takes place on Friday and
Saturday, September 12-13, 2008 at the unique 7/16s mile progressively
banked paved oval of Berlin Raceway, located a little over an hour
West of Team Finley Racing's DeWitt, Michigan race shop.
The 16-year-old will be making his debut in the CRA Super Series with
his ASALMS legal Template Bodied / Crate Engine machine in the Boyne
at Berlin 125, which pays the winner a whopping $10,000!
He'll also be racing his Outlaw Bodied Super Late Model in the Boyne
at Berlin 100 against some of the top Outlaw Bodied Super Late Model
drivers in the state in an event that will pay a nice prize of $5,000
to the winner.
In Finley's last race, he and his Team Finley Racing made the trip to
the Gateway International Raceway, located East of St. Louis, Missouri
in Madison, Illinois for the 2008 ASA Late Model Series Challenge
Division Season Championships.

The biggest race track of Chad
Finley's brief career, a 1 1/4 mile semi-banked egg-shaped paved
oval, was the site of the Gateway 100 as the ASALMS was there in
support of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Finley was hoping to
show his skills in front of the NASCAR crowd, but again his ASALMS bad
luck continued.
After Qualifying an impressive 12th out of 31 machines, Finley quickly
worked his way into the Top 10 and was patiently picking off cars one
by one on his way to the front when on Lap 71 an axle broke ending his
day early with a 21st place finish.
"I don't think anyone on this race team knows what to say any more.
It's just bad luck rewarded with bad luck," The disappointed teenager
relayed. "We had a good car at Gateway, but to no avail. Honestly
there's nothing to say. We need some good luck for a change. Thanks to
Wayne and all the guys at BKR for there help at Gateway."
"I don't know what we need to do to change our luck. As a car owner
I'm baffled!" Explained Team Finley Racing Car Owner, Jeff Finley, "I
know it's just a matter of time before it changes, but it gets very
difficult and frustrating."
"We have had good cars all season long in the ASA Late Model Series,
but we just can't seem to get the end. As a Father, I feel terrible
for Chad. He drives his butt off and gives 110% every lap." Finley
added.
The elder Finley then continued. "Hopefully this close to home and in
Auto Value's backyard, we can put something together for the end. You
can never give up so we will see what happens." He ended.
Both of Finley's cars will have prominent decals from Auto Value /
Bumper to Bumper Parts Stores and Certified Service Centers as well as
the AutoParts2020.com colors in Western Michigan. His CRA car will
sport the familiar #42 while the Outlaw Bodied machine will carry the
#29.
