CRA Family Fun Zone To
Be At ORP This Weekend
Salem, IN (September 18, 2008)
– The very popular CRA Family Fun Zone will be at the 1st
Annual Circle Track Classic at the famed O’Reilly Raceway Park in
Clermont, Indiana this Saturday, September 20th. The CRA
Family Fun Zone
has
been a very welcomed addition to each CRA Super Series event during
the 2008 season creating a new way for families to get involved with
racing and providing entertainment for the series fans and their
children.
Champion Racing Association will be
the promoters of Saturday’s event that will feature the CRA Super
Series in the Circle Track Classic 100 Presented By The U.S. Army, the
Howe CRA Sportsman Series in the Circle Track Classic 50 Presented By
Lyons Truck & Trailer, the CRA Street Stocks in the Circle Track 50
Presented By Hall Brothers Transportation and the Super Truck
Challenge with participants from the Anderson Speedway Ed Martin
Chevrolet SuperTrucks, the ORP based ARA Truck Series and the Michigan
based Short
Track Trucks Challenge, all competing together in one 50 lap feature
event.
The CRA Family Fun Zone includes a #0
Brookside Motorsports CRA Super Series late model show car, that fans
are able to get in and get their picture taken. There are also several
family friendly games and lots of prizes that are given away to the
kids and some of the adults as well, every event that the CRA Family
Fun Zone has been at there have been a large group of children that
always take part in the activities at the CRA Family Fun Zone.
The CRA Family Fun Zone has been a
great success this season," remarked Glenn Luckett, Director of the
CRA Super Series. "I definitely think
it has made a difference in getting more families to come out to our
shows this season. I encourage all our fans to come out to ORP
Saturday night and bring your children so they can enjoy the CRA
Family Fun Zone and the excellent racing they will see on one of the
greatest short tracks in the nation!"
Brookside Motorsports owners Shawn
and Donna Matthuis are the creators of the
CRA
Family Fun Zone, they competed with the CRA Super Series for the first
time in 2007 with son Sean Matthuis, who finished second in Rookie Of
The Year points and eighth in overall series points. The family
traveled from their New Lenox, Illinois home to compete with the
series, and wanted a way to involve families more in the series racing
events and provide some fun for the kids attending the races. Donna
manages the CRA Family Fun Zone along with several volunteers.

and also by generous donations from several members of the CRA Super
Series racing community including McGunegill Engine Performance and
Schoenfeld Headers. Copies of Tyndale Publisher’s kids racing book by
Chris Fabry, called Blind Spot, along with other great prizes will be
given as families visit the fun zone.
