Boyne At Berlin 125 Postponed Until October 18th

Marne, MI (September 15, 2008) – The CRA Super Series $10,000 to win Boyne At Berlin 125 event with the Boyne At Berlin Weekend at Berlin Raceway was postponed because of rain. The 28 car-starting field for the event was locked in with Qualifications and a Last Chance race on Friday, unfortunately rain showers moved in on Saturday with the area receiving several inches of rain throughout the day. The feature event has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 18th.

Boyne Machine, the promoter of the event, has announced that the starting field for that event will be expanded to 30 cars with the two additional starters and any starting positions that are open because of any of the locked in starters not returning, will come from an additional 20 lap Last Chance race that will be ran on Saturday, October 18th. Any cars that did not make the line-up from this past weekend are already pre-entered for that race and any new entry’s are also welcome. The starters for the October 18th Last Chance race will be determined by qualifications on that Saturday, cars will be lined up straight up from qualifying.

Tom Thomas in Tim Curry’s #90 car was the Appleton Rack & Pinion Fast Qualifier on Friday besting the 35 cars that signed in for the event. Thomas drew a five for the invert putting Andy Ponstein on the pole and current series points’ leader Scott Hantz on the outside pole. The top 20 Starters were locked in through qualifying. Aaron Pierce won the 20-lap Last Chance race on Friday earning the 21st starting position with Fred Campbell getting the 22nd starting position for finishing second in that event. Jason Dietsch and Terry Fisher Jr. got starting positions 23rd and 24th by being the next two in series points who had not earned a starting position.

Jason Shively and Robert Maynor received starting positions 25th and 26th as promoter’s options from Boyne machine, Shively on series owner points and Maynor from being the next fastest qualifier eligible for the feature event. Boyne Machine decided to add two Additional Starters bringing the field to 28 cars. Those two positions went to Adam Purdy for finishing third in the Last Chance race and Sean Matthuis, the next highest in series points not in the event. The additional starters are guaranteed only half of the original starting pay including the added 29th and 30th additional starters for the rescheduled event on October 18th.

The schedule for the October 18th make-up event will be announced in the near future. Additional event information is available at www.boyneatberlin.com. More information on the CRA Super Series is available at www.craracing.net.
