Pierce Still Leads
Tight K & N Filters Rookie Of The Year Points Battle
Salem, IN (October 3, 2008) –
Aaron Pierce holds a slim lead in the K & N Filters Rookie Of The Year
points after 13 CRA Super Series events so far this season, but fellow
rookie Zach Taylor is still right on his tail in what looks to be a
great battle for the 2008 K & N Filters Rookie Of The Year Award with
only two points events left on the 2008 series schedule which will
resume with the 37th Annual Winchester 400 Presented By Ed
Martin Auto Group and Renegade at Winchester Speedway on Sunday,
October 12th and conclude with the rescheduled Boyne At
Berlin 125 on Saturday, October 18th.
Pierce currently has 950 points in
the K & N Filters Rookie Of The Year points, which
allows
each competitor to drop their two worse finishes of the season. Zach
Taylor is currently in second with 938 points, just 12 points behind
Pierce. Pierce has been the K & N Filters Rookie Of The Race in seven
series events to date, while Taylor has captured that award at the
other six series events this season. Both drivers have had a season
high finish of second in an event this season with Taylor doing it
twice at both Salem events this season.
Robert Maynor is currently third in K
& N Filters Rookie Of The Year points with 786 points, Maynor got a
season best ninth place finish at Salem Speedway on August 16th.
Adam Purdy is in fourth place with 744 points, he got his best ever
series finish of sixth also at the series event at Salem on August 16th.
Tommy Cook is in fifth place with 522 points followed by Donald Karr
Jr., in sixth with 383 points, both of those drivers have not ran the
full schedule of series events this season.
The K & N Filters Rookie Of The Race
Award will go to the highest finishing registered rookie at each CRA
Super Series points event during the 2008 season and will consist of a
$100 cash bonus and a $25 Product Certificate. The highest finishing
registered rookie in the K & N Filters Rookie Of The Year Standings
will receive the K & N Filters Rookie Of The Year Award at the 2008
Champion Racing Association Awards Banquet which will include a $1000
cash bonus, a jacket and a $100 Product Certificate from K & N
Filters.
