CRA Super Series to Be Part of 33rd
Annual "Rattler 250" with Possible $25,000 to Win
Series to Support
South Alabama Speedway Officials in areas of Race Control, Procedures,
Scoring & Tech
Salem, IN (November 5, 2008) -
Officials from Champion Racing Association (CRA) and John Dykes, owner
of South Alabama Speedway, recently announced that CRA officials will
be providing support in the areas of race control, procedures, scoring
and technical inspection for the 33rd Annual "Rattler 250"
March 6-8, 2009.
The Speedway is making it possible
for one Super Late Model driver to take home over $25,000 in cash and
prizes if 50 Super Late Models are part of racing that weekend.
Drivers are encouraged to register their intent to race in the event
on-line at
www.southalabamaspeedway.com as soon as possible.
To
ensure speedy responses from the teams, Speedway officials announced
that qualifying order will be the reverse order that entries are
received, thus, the sooner teams enter, the later they will be in the
qualifying order.
The "Rattler 250" has a long history
of great drivers and great winners, with a past champions list that
includes Dave Mader, Ronnie Sanders (only 3 time winner), the late
Charlie Bradberry, Jason Hogan, Augie Grill and 2008 Winner Grant
Enfinger.
If 50 cars enter and attempt to make
the race, track officials are posting a great purse of $20,000-to-Win,
plus bonuses. Another $2500 in lap money has been posted as well as a
$1500 "Fast Qualifier and Win Bonus," a $1500 "Start from the Rear and
Win Bonus," a $1500 ARP Bodies Certificate (Package "A" Body) for the
winner, $250 Cash and a $500 Certificate from ARP Bodies for Fast
Qualifier, $250 Halfway Leader Bonus, plus other awards to still be
announced.
The "Rattler 250" will use Derby
technical rules for the Super Late Models, which are very much in line
with CRA Super Series rules. Ricky Brooks will serve as Chief
Technical Inspector for the race, with CRA Chief Technical Inspector
Eddie Chew to serve in a support role for Brooks. For more information
