Salem, IN (May 9, 2008) –
Hartsville, Tennessee native Zach Taylor has taken the early lead in
the K & N Filters Rookie Of The Year Standings with the CRA Super
Series after one event. Taylor’s fifth place finish for the Great
Deals Racing team in the April 27th Manning Service 100 at
Winchester Speedway earning him the first K & N Filters Rookie Of The
Race Award of the 2008 season which netted the team a $100 cash bonus
and a $25 Product Certificate from K & N Filters along with a $50
Product Certificate from VDL Fuel Systems.
Fellow rookie Aaron Pierce, currently
living in Phoenix, Arizona, is only two points behind Taylor after
finishing right behind him in the season opener in sixth place. For
Pierce, an open wheel veteran, it was a great way to end his first

model for the Muller Motorsports Team. Pierce earned a $25 Product
Certificate from Cometic Gasket for his second highest rookie finish.

third in the K & N Filters Rookie Of The Year Standings, 10 points
behind Pierce after getting an 11th place finish in the
season opener for the Floyd
Fehl
Motorsports team. Cook is still learning how to compete with the
additional horsepower after competing in mostly crate engine late
models the past three years.
Colgate, Wisconsin native Robert
Maynor is fourth in rookie points, only four behind Cook after getting
a 13th place finish at Winchester. New Lenox, Illinois
native Al Longtin is fifth in points after getting a 16th
place finish at Winchester. Taylor, Michigan’s Adam Purdy and
Anderson, Indiana’s Donald Karr Jr. are sixth and seventh after having
their day end early at Winchester after being involved in some on
track contact in two separate incidents on lap 13 of the Manning
Service 100.

action in the CRA Super Sunday 100 Presented By Dietsch Sales &
Service and Klotz Lubricants on Sunday, May 18th at Baer
