CRA Family Fun
Zone A Big Hit With Fans
Salem, IN (May 27, 2008) –
Even
though Mother Nature has only allowed the CRA Super Series to
compete twice so far this 2008 race season, the CRA Family Fun Zone,
which debuted this season, has proven to be a great hit with families
attending the two events held so far this season. The CRA Family Fun
Zone is a special place for fans attending the series events this
season to spend some entertaining time with their family before the
cars hit the track or during breaks in the on track action.
The CRA Family Fun Zone includes a #0
Brookside Motorsports CRA Super Series late model show car, that fans
are able to get in and get their picture taken. There are also several
family friendly games and lots of prizes that were given away to the
kids and some of the adults as well, at the last series event at Baer
Field Speedway over 70 children took part in the activities at the
CRA
Family Fun Zone.
The CRA Family Fun Zone has been a
great success so far this season," remarked Glenn Luckett, Director of
the CRA Super Series. "We promoted the CRA Family Fun Zone in all our
advertising and promotion for the Baer Field Speedway event, and I
definitely think it made a difference in getting more families to come
out for that show. I encourage all our event track promoters to
include the CRA Family Fun Zone in their promotion of our events this
season."
Brookside Motorsports owners Shawn
and Donna Matthuis are the creators of the CRA Family Fun Zone, they
competed with the CRA Super Series for the first time in 2007 with son
Sean Matthuis, who finished second in Rookie Of The Year points and
eighth in overall series points. The family traveled from their New
Lenox, Illinois home to
compete
with the series, and wanted a way to involve families more in the
series racing events and provide some fun for the kids attending the
races. Donna will manage the CRA Family Fun Zone along with several
volunteers.
Sponsorship of the CRA Family Fun
Zone has been provided by Kids Corner Radio (www.kidscorner.net ),
Tyndale Publishers (www.tyndale.com ), Moody Radio (www.moodyradio.org
), and also by generous donations from several members of the CRA
Super Series racing community including McGunegill Engine Performance
and Schoenfeld Headers. Copies of Tyndale
Publisher’s kids racing book
by Chris Fabry, called Blind Spot, along with other great prizes will
be given as families visit the fun zone.
