SCHOENFELD RACING PRESS RELEASE
CANADIAN STEVE ARPIN TO MAKE ASPHALT DEBUT IN SCHOENFELD
RACING #43 AT NASHVILLE'S ALL AMERICAN 150
(Van Buren, AR) Schoenfeld
Headers founder Don Schoenfeld made the announcement today that
Canadian open wheel modified ace Steve Arpin will make his asphalt
debut in a Schoenfeld Racing team car for the Championship Racing
Assn. All American 150 at the Music City Motorplex July 20th. Last
year the Fort Frances, Ontario native blasted onto the open wheel
modified scene by winning seven of his first eight races on a southern
swing for Speedweeks '08. He eventually won 8 of 10 nights en route
to
the 2007 DIRTcar UMP Winter National Championship at Volusia Speedway.
Steve concluded the 2007 season with 18 wins and 42 top five finishes
at tracks across the United States.
"We've had a long relationship with
Steve and we're excited to provide a quality ride for him as he
embarks on a new chapter of his brilliant racing career," said Doug
Schoenfeld President of Schoenfeld Headers. Carl Edwards and Clint
Boyer are both products of open wheel modifieds where car control and
throttle management on narrow tires is a must!
"I am exited about teaming up with
Schoenfeld Headers for our first ever CRA Super Series race in
Nashville, TN. As I continue to work on developing my career as a
driver, I am both honored and excited to start this journey with such
great people and a great team. Racing at one of the oldest tracks in
the country and a track with so much history and so many talented
drivers coming from it, will be very special," Arpin said.
Don Schoenfeld said, "this is a great opportunity to showcase our race
team which Dennis has put together over the last few years. Our two
Hamke chassis are state-of-the-art and our engine program consists of
one McGunegill sealed engine and one 18 degree engine by Tom Negrete."
Our goal is to position Schoenfeld Racing at a level where we can
provide competitive race cars for future up-and-coming young drivers,"
said Mark Brailey, team manager.
