True Wins 3rd Annual Late Model Jones And Bags A Cool
$10,000
Jones, Michigan (July 5, 2008)
ASA Late Model Series
veteran Doug True, had a lot riding on Saturday's
3rd Annual Late Model Jones at M40 Speedway.
"Financially we were on our last
few races of the season" stated True.
"I looked up at the
scoreboard and it says lap 93, I saw who was behind me and thought for
sure that I was a sitting duck with all the heavy hitters now on my
tail. To win 10 grand is sweet, but to lead about 90 laps and beat the
best in the business in front of a packed house of family and friends
is so awesome."
True
would win the 10 lap heat race early in the evening by half a
straightaway, then went on to win the 3rd Annual Late Model
Jones and it's $10,000 first place payoff.
True steered his Les Stanford Ford, G&G Auto Service,
99Signs, True Racing Products sponsored Howe Racing Enterprises
chassis to M40 Speedway Victory Lane in front of a near capacity crowd
over Jeff Vochaska, Andy Bozell, Phil Bozell, Mike Zordan, and Jeff
Ganus.
True has entered Sunday's Mid-Summer
Championship 200 Presented By Centennial Wireless at Plymouth
Speedway. This will be True's first start with the CRA Super Series
since the series Kalamazoo Speedway event during the 2006 season. True
has made a hand full of series starts over the years.
