Salem, IN (February 6, 2008) – Champion Racing Association Officials have released the 2008 schedules for their CRA Street Stocks and Vore’s Welding & Steel CRA FWD Compacts. This will be the fourth season for the CRA Street Stocks and the second full season for the Vore’s Welding & Steel CRA FWD Compacts.

The 2008 CRA Street Stock schedule has a total of 13 regular point events, one special point event and two non-point special events. The series will begin with a special points event in its first ever sanctioned event outside the state of Indiana at the Music City Motorplex at the Fairgrounds in Nashville, Tennessee. The event will be a shoot-out between the CRA Street Stocks and the MCM Sportsman as part of the Spring Clash on Saturday, March 29^th. That event will also feature the CRA Super Series in the All American 150. Because of the required travel and combined groups, this will not be a full-points event for the CRA Street Stocks, only 25 appearance points will be awarded to all cars in attendance and their will be no entry fee for all CRA Street Stock Licensed Members. There is an additional non-points special event that is listed as tentative at the Music City Motorplex for November 1 with details to be released at a later date.

The series will have six points events and one non-points special event at Winchester Speedway during the 2008 season including the first regular season points event on Sunday, April 20^th and the 100 lap $2,500 to win event on Sunday, May 4^th. The series will have two events at Anderson Speedway in 2008 including a big 200 lap, $2,500 to win event on Saturday, June 14^th and a regular 100 lap event on Saturday August 9^th. The series also has two events scheduled at O’Reilly Raceway Park on Saturday, July 12^th and Saturday August 16^th with the ARA Street Stocks.

The series will be part of the CRA Super Sunday at Baer Field Speedway on Sunday, May 18^th and will make its first ever visit to Angola Motor Speedway on Saturday, July 26^th. The series has an additional event scheduled for Saturday, September 20^th that will be announced at a later date.

The CRA Street Stock competitors voted during the off-season to restructure the regular events purse payoff for 2008. The actual purse was increased by 5%, but the distribution has been spread out more through out the field. The regular season events will pay $750 to win, $500 for second, $350 for third down to $90 to start.

The Vore’s Welding & Steel CRA FWD Compacts have 10 events on their 2008 schedule. Seven of the events will be at Winchester Speedway including the season opener at Winchester Speedway on Sunday, April 20^th and the season Championship event on Friday, October 10^th. The series will be part of the CRA Super Sunday at Baer Field Speedway on Sunday, May 18^th. The series will have its first ever event at Salem Speedway on Sunday, June 7^th in a combined event with the Salem Speedway FWD Class.

The series will also have its first ever event at Plymouth Speedway on Sunday, July 13^th in a combined event with the Plymouth FWD class. Both the Salem and Plymouth events will be in conjunction with a CRA Super Series event. For the teams looking for additional racing during the season, Salem Speedway will have six additional events for their FWD class on their 2008 schedule and almost every Saturday night at Plymouth Speedway for their FWD class.
