CRA and Anderson
Speedway to Co-Promote "Circle Track Classic" Championships at ORP
Salem, IN (February 7, 2008) –
Officials from Anderson Speedway and Champion Racing Association (CRA)
have announced a special joint effort event between the two
well-established racing entities for the 2008 season. The two groups
will join together to Co-Promote the "Circle Track Classic"
Championships at the famous O’Reilly Raceway Park (ORP) in Clermont,
Indiana on Saturday, September 20th.
Rick Dawson, Owner/Promoter of
Anderson Speedway, the home of the world
famous Little 500, will join
with the management team of Champion Racing Association, promoters of
Winchester Speedway for owner Charlie Shaw as well as the CRA Super
Series, Howe CRA Sportsman Series, CRA Street Stocks and Vore’s
Welding & Steel CRA FWD Compacts, to Co-Promote this huge Central
Indiana racing event in the city that many consider the Racing Capitol
of the World.
"I am really excited to join with CRA
to co-promote this event," remarked Dawson. "We have worked together
in the past and have made some good things happen, now we will take
that one step further and promote a huge event at one of the most
famous race tracks in the country. We will put forth a full-out effort
to make this a marquee event that will hopefully grow into a tradition
for years to come! As a result of this race being announced, the
previously posted Anderson Speedway schedule will change for
September
20th, to a non-racing event that will be announced at a
later date."
"We want to continue the momentum
that was started at ORP with last years awesome Circle Track Nationals
that was promoted by Jim Winters and Chris Gabehart," remarked R.J.
Scott, Managing Partner of Champion Racing Association. "With Rick
Dawson and the management team we have at CRA, we feel we can promote
a great event for the racers as well as the racing fans in Central
Indiana. ORP is a great track that we have raced at since our
beginning in 1997, and we want to continue that tradition with the
‘Circle Track Classic’ Championships."
The
event will include racing from
the CRA Super Series, Howe CRA Sportsman, CRA Street Stocks and from
the Anderson Speedway Ed Martin Auto Group Super Trucks. The events
will be point events for all four divisions. There will be an open
practice, put on by the race track, for competitors in all four
divisions on Friday, September 19th, with a full day of
practice, qualifying and racing on Saturday, September 20th.
A full detailed schedule of events will be released at a later date.
There will be several marketing
opportunities available for the "Circle Track Classic" Championships
for companies and groups of any size to be a part of this huge racing
event that will attract fans and racers from all over the region.
