U.S. Army To Support
Upcoming CRA Super Series Events
Salem, IN (August 21, 2008) –
The U.S. Army was agreed to support the CRA Super Series at three of
the remaining series events on the 2008 schedule. The U.S. Army will
be the Presenting Sponsor of the McGunegill Engine Performance 100 for
the CRA Super Series at Winchester Speedway on Labor Day Weekend as
part of the huge World Stock Car Festival. The McGunegill Engine
Performance 100 Presented By The U.S. Army will be on Monday,
September 1, one of seven feature events with that afternoon program
that will begin at 1pm, the final day of the World Stock Car Festival.
The U.S. Army will also support the
CRA Super Series as a Corporate Sponsor with
the Circle Track Classic series event at O’Reilly Raceway Park on
Saturday, September 20th. The U.S. Army will have several
very interesting activities for race fans to participate in at that
event. Besides the CRA Super Series, the CRA promoted event will also
have racing action from the Howe CRA Sportsman Series, CRA Street
Stocks and the Anderson Speedway Ed Martin Chevrolet SuperTrucks on
one of the most famous short tracks in the country.
The U.S. Army will also be a
Corporate Sponsor with the CRA Super Series at the prestigious 37th
Annual Winchester 400 Presented By The Ed Martin Auto Group and
Renegade at Winchester Speedway on Sunday, October 12th.
That event saw some of the best racers from all over the country come
to challenge the best CRA Super Series racers on the High Banks for a
grueling 400 lap shootout last year along with NASCAR stars Kyle Busch
and David Stremme. Both Busch, who picked up his 17th
NASCAR victory of the season in Wednesday nights NASCAR Craftsman
Truck Series event at Bristol, and Stremme, who is rumored to get the
#12 Penske NASCAR Sprint Cup ride in 2009, have indicated that they
would be back to compete again in the Winchester 400 this season!
The U.S. Army is sponsoring Fagin
Motorsports with driver Brandon Fagin in selected CRA Super Series
events during the 2008 season. Fagin is running selected events this
season to gain experience for a full time assault on the series Rookie
Of The Year honors and season Championship in 2009. The Fagin
Motorsports U.S. Army show car will be on display at all three of the
U.S. Army supported series events.
The U.S. Army, a key component of the
U.S. Armed Forces, is made up of the best-trained, most dedicated,
most respected Soldiers in the world — protecting America’s freedoms
at home and abroad, securing our homeland, and defending democracy
worldwide. A Soldier in the U.S. Army is the embodiment of physical
strength, emotional strength and strength of purpose. As a Soldier,
you are prepared to serve our country whenever and wherever you are
needed, combat-ready at all times, trained to counter any threat,
anywhere.
The strength of the Army lies not
only in numbers but also in the individual Soldier. Because no matter
what job they have or rank they hold — there is nothing stronger than
a U.S. Army Soldier. The Army consists of more than 675,000 Soldiers:
488,000 on Active Duty, ready to respond immediately to any mission;
189,000 in the Army Reserve, who can be rapidly mobilized when their
skills are needed in times of national emergency or global conflict.
