Start 2008 Season With Open Practice on April 19
USAC National Sprint
Car Teams Will Be Allowed To Practice
Winchester, IN (April 7, 2008)
– Winchester Speedway is set to open its 2008 race season with a
scheduled Open Practice on Saturday, April 19th. Pits will
open on that Saturday at 9am, open practice will go from 12noon until
5pm. The track will close 30 minutes after the end of the last
practice. There will be no charge for fans to come
out
and watch the Open Practice from the grandstands, as teams get ready
for the tracks season opener on Sunday, April 20th.
The April 19th Open
Practice is open to any competitor from any type of racecar that will
compete at Winchester Speedway during the 2008 season. USAC officials
recently announced that teams would be allowed to practice any day
leading up to an event, so there could be several USAC National Sprint
Car teams participating in preparation for April 20th’s
Rich Vogler Classic. Several CRA Super Series Late Models are expected
to be on hand getting ready for the Manning Service 100. Several CRA
Street Stocks and Vores Welding & Steel CRA FWD Compacts will also be
practicing, as they get ready for their season opener that Sunday.
Pit gates will open on Sunday, April
20th at 8am, spectator gates at 9:30 am with practice
beginning at 10am. Qualifying will follow at 12:15pm. The race program
will begin at 2pm with heat races from the USAC National Sprint Cars
and CRA Street Stocks followed by the 30 lap Rich Vogler Classic for
the USAC National Sprint Cars, the Manning Service 100 for the CRA
Super Series, the MAX 40 for the CRA Street Stocks and the Vores
Welding & Steel 20 for the Vores Welding & Steel CRA FWD Compacts.
