CRA Family Fun Zone To
Debut At Winchester Speedway This Weekend
Salem, IN (April 14, 2008) –
CRA Super Series events will feature a new exciting addition this
season, the CRA Family Fun Zone, which will debut at this weekends
series season opener at Winchester Speedway. The CRA Family Fun Zone
will be a special place for fans attending the series events this
season to spend some entertaining time with their family before the
cars hit the track or during breaks in the on track action.
Brookside Motorsports owners Shawn
and Donna Matthuis are the creators of the CRA Family Fun Zone, they
competed with the CRA Super Series for the first time in 2007 with son
Sean Matthuis, who finished second in Rookie Of The Year points and
eighth in overall series points. The family traveled from their New
Lenox, Illinois home to compete with the series, and wanted a way to
involve families
more
in the series racing events and provide some fun for the kids
attending the races. Donna will manage the CRA Family Fun Zone along
with several volunteers.
The CRA Family Fun Zone will include
a #0 Brookside Motorsports CRA Super Series late model show car, that
fans will be able to get in and get their picture taken. There will
also be several family friendly games and lots of prizes for the kids
and some for the adults as well. Sponsorship of the CRA Family Fun
Zone has been provided by Kids Corner Radio (www.kidscorner.net),
Tyndale Publishers (www.tyndale.com),
Moody Radio (www.moodyradio.org),
and also by generous donations from several members of the CRA Super
Series racing community. Copies of Tyndale Publisher’s kids racing
book by Chris Fabry, called Blind Spot, along with other great prizes
will be given as families visit the fun zone.
"We are really excited about having
the CRA Family Fun Zone at our series events in 2008," remarked Glenn
Luckett, Director of the CRA Super Series. "We appreciate the
Brookside Motorports Team developing the idea and putting forth a lot
of time and effort to make it happen. This will be a great addition to
our events, its something that our track owners can use to promote our
events and hopefully help bring more families to the tracks to enjoy
the CRA Family Fun Zone and the great racing of the CRA Super Series!"
Brookside Motorsports is also hoping
to host groups of kids from local orphanages, foster homes or other
needy children groups in the areas at some of the series events during
the season. For more information about the CRA Family Fun Zone or how
you might lend your support, please contact Shawn Matthuis at
