VanDoorn Wins The
Scott Performance Wire Four State Challenge

–CRA Super Series Rookie Of The Year John VanDoorn has won the 2007
Scott Performance Wire Four State Challenge, an award program based
upon four selected series points events in the four states the series
had points events in 2007. The Scott Performance
Wire
Four State Challenge began with the Spring Clash 150 series season
opening event at the Music City Motorplex at the Fairgrounds in
Nashville, Tennessee on April 1st. The second event was on
June 2nd at Columbus Motor Speedway in Columbus, Ohio. The
third event was on Labor Day Weekend at Winchester Speedway, located
in Winchester, Indiana. The fourth and final event was on September 15th
at Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan.
Current CRA Super Series points
leader Chris Gabehart went into the Berlin Raceway event with a 13
point lead in the standings, VanDoorn scored 17 more points than
Gabehart in that event giving him a four point advantage and the win
in the Scott Performance Wire Four State Challenge. Gabehart currently
holds a 62 point lead over VanDoorn in the CRA Super Series
Championship point standings with only one points event left, the 36th
Annual Winchester 400 Presented By Ed Martin Auto Group and Renegade
on Sunday, October 14th at Winchester Speedway. Gabehart
will only have to start that event to clinch his first CRA Super
Series points Championship. VanDoorn clinched the series 2007 Rookie
Of The Year Award at the Berlin Raceway event.
VanDoorn will each receive a $600
bonus and a set of Scott Performance Wires at the 2007 series awards
banquet from Scott Performance Wires. Gabehart will receive a $400
bonus and a set of Scott Performance Wires as the 2007 Champion at the
banquet. 2006 CRA Super Series Champion and 2006 Scott Performance
Wire Challenge winner Scott Hantz finished in third place, 29 points
behind the leaders. Hantz will receive a $200 bonus from Scott
Performance Wires. An additional set of Scott Performance Wires will
be given away by random draw of the top fifteen teams in final series
points at the 2007 series awards banquet.
