Former All
American Winners Jason Hogan and Boris Jurkovic Lead Talented Group Of
Drivers Entered For This Weekends Event In Nashville
Salem, IN (October 30, 2007) –
Former All American winners Jason Hogan and Boris Jurkovic lead a very
talented group of late model drivers entered for this weekend’s Adam
Petty Memorial All American 400, CRA Super Series sanctioned event at
the famed Music City Motorplex at the Fairgrounds in Nashville,
Tennessee. All the drivers have one goal in mind, win the All American
event in Nashville and claim the legendary winners Copley Guitar
Trophy along with the $10,000 first place check. The All American 400
has always been one of the most prestigious racing events in the
country bringing the best late model drivers from both the North and
the South to compete at one of the best short-tracks in the country.
2005 winner Jason Hogan from
Cleveland, Georgia and 2006 winner Boris Jurkovic from Joilet,
Illinois have both entered to try and claim there second guitar, but
they will have to battle over 50 other competitors already entered for
this weekends events. To date 53 drivers have already pre-entered from
thirteen different states including Alabama, Florida, Georgia,
Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina,
Ohio, Tennessee, Texas, and Wisconsin. There are 31 Northern drivers
entered and 22 Southern drivers entered, ready to do battle on the
5/8’s mile high banked oval.
Besides Jurkovic, the North is lead
by CRA Super Series 2007 Champion Chris Gabehart who leads a strong
group of series regulars entered that also includes 2007 Rookie Of The
Year and Triple Crown points leader John Van Doorn, 2006 series
Champion Scott Hantz, 1998 Champion Brian Rievley, Rick Turner, Jeff
Lane, Jack Smith, JR Roahrig, Jason Dietsch, A.J. Ganino and Robert
Maynor. Other notable Northern drivers entered include 2006 ASA Late
Model Series All American winner Eddie Hoffman, 2007 ASA Midwest
Series and Wisconsin Challenge Champion Nathan Haseleu, winner of the
Spring Clash 150 CRA event at Nashville in March, and former ASA
Series competitor Robbie Pyle.
The North is also represented by
former NASCAR Elite Series Champion Tim Schendel, fellow Wisconsin
driver Chris Wimmer, younger brother of NASCAR competitor Scott Wimmer,
2007 Salem Speedway Late Model Champion Will Kimmel, nephew of nine
time ARCA RE/MAX Series Champion Frank Kimmel, multi-time Salem
Speedway Champion Keith Gardner, Minnesota hot shoes Josh Vadnais,
runner up to Haseleu in the Spring Clash 150, along with Andy Hanson
and Jonathan Eilen, Illinois veterans Larry Schuler and David Finney,
Kentucky drivers Greg Boone, Jeff Berg and Gary Pedley, Michigan’s Any
Ponstein, Ohio veteran Jeep Pflum, and Wisconsin veteran Tony Srupp.
The South has a who’s who of names
representing it including Hogan, multi-time Music City Motorplex
Champion Mark Day, veteran Alabama drivers Dave Mader III, Stanley
Smith, Johnny Brazier along with Alabama youngsters Hunter Robbins and
Grant Enfinger, also North Carolina veterans Jeff Fultz, a multi-time
NASCAR Elite Series Champion and Dennis Schoenfeld, along with Mobile
Speedway Late Model Series Champion Casey Smith and fellow Texas hot
shoe Ryan Lawler, currently leading the PASS South Series points and
winner of the Winchester 400.
The South is also represented by
Tennessee drivers Gary Helton, Heath Hindman and Tony Pankauskas, GAS
Series Champion Russell Fleeman who finished third in the Spring Clash
150, along with fellow Georgia driver Ryan Sieg. A strong group of
Florida drivers is also entered for this years All American event lead
by Pensacola’s "Fast" Eddie Mercer, winner of the 2005 CRA Spring
Clash event at Nashville, hot shoe’s Justin Drawdy, Jay Middleton, and
Sean Murphy who is coached by former two time All American 400 winner
Butch Miller. The Florida group also includes Five Flags Speedway
veteran Donald Long and young Kurt Jett.
Action at the Music City Motorplex
will begin on Friday with an open practice for the CRA Super Series
and ASA Late Model Series from 2 until 7pm Central Time. On Saturday
both divisions will practice and qualify, the ASA Late Models will run
a 25 lap GM Performance Shoot-out and their All American 200 lap event
that evening. Sunday’s events will start with an on track autograph
session at 11:30am. The Blue-Gray 100 to determined the last five
starters in the Adam Petty Memorial All American 300 will take the
green flag at 1pm and will be followed by the Adam Petty Memorial All
