Champion Racing Association Releases 2008 Schedule For Howe CRA Sportsman

Salem, IN (November 21, 2007) – Champion Racing Association officials have released the tentative 2008 schedule for the Howe CRA Sportsman Series, which will be in it’s third season of competition.

Billy Hutson was the series 2007 Champion in a season that consisted of 11 events while Keith Sterkowitz was the inaugural 2006 Champion during the series first season that consisted of only six events.

The 2008 tentative Howe CRA Sportsman Series schedule consist of 18 points event and one non-points event at five different racetracks. The series is tentatively scheduled to compete at Baer Field Speedway nine times during the 2008 season, which will take the place of the Baer Field Speedway Limited Late Model class that ran in previous seasons. All the events at Baer Field Speedway will count towards the series 2008 points championship and Baer Field Speedway will have separate points for those series events as well with separate awards for the top drivers in the Baer Field Speedway mini-series.

"I am really excited about having the Howe CRA Sportsman at Baer Field Speedway in 2008," remarked Tom Isch, Promoter of Baer Field Speedway. "I believe replacing our Limited Late Models with CRA events will help not only Baer Field Speedway, but also the Howe CRA Sportsman Series. It unites a lot of drivers under the same rules and gives them an opportunity to compete in a full season of events with a touring series in roughly a 150-mile radius at some great racetracks!"

The Howe CRA Sportsman will have four point’s events and one non-points event at Winchester Speedway in 2008. There will be two events at Plymouth Speedway including a 100 lap, $2500 to win event on Saturday, August 2nd. The series will open the 2008 season with an event at Anderson Speedway on April 19th and will have an event at Angola Motor Speedway on Thursday, July 3rd.

The Howe CRA Sportsman Series will have an increase of more than 5% in the event purses in 2008. The top ten in final series points will receive cash awards and additional prizes at the 2008 Champion Racing Association Awards Banquet. More information is available at www.craracing.net.
