Gabehart And Scott Win Harris Products Group Season Lap Leader Awards

Salem, IN (November 7, 2007) – 2007 CRA Super Series Champion Chris Gabehart and Mooresville, North Carolina native Brian Scott are the winners of the Harris Products Group Season Lap Leader Awards for the 2007 racing season. Gabehart dominated in leading laps in the regular 100 and 125 lap events this season by leading a total of 358 laps in getting three series wins during the season. In all Gabehart lead laps in five different events, including 89 in the Labor Day Weekend event at Winchester Speedway.

2005 series Driver Champion Jeff Lane came in second in the 100 and 125 lap events with 165 laps led in two different races, but failed to win a race during the 2007 season. Rookie Of The Year winner John Van Doorn finished in third with 133 laps lead in three different events during the season. Tommy St. John was fourth with 96 laps lead all in his victory in the April event at Winchester Speedway. Jack Landis was fifth with 95 laps lead, all at the June event at Angola Motor Speedway.

Brian Scott was the winner of the Harris Products Group Season Lap Leader Award for the extra distance races over 125 laps this season. Scott lead 225 laps in that category, all of which came in the Winchester 400 Presented By Ed Martin Auto Group and Renegade on October 14th at Winchester Speedway. That was the only event that Scott participated in with the series during the 2007 season, in 2008 Scott will race full-time with the NASCASR Craftsman Truck Series.

Rookie John Van Doorn was second with 213 laps lead in that category. 126 of those laps came in his victory in the Budweiser 250 at Anderson Speedway on August 4th, the rest came in his victory in last Sunday’s Adam Petty Memorial All American 300 win at the Music City Motorplex in Nashville. Nathan Haseleu finished in third with 149 laps lead, all of which came in his victory in the Spring Clash 150 on April 1 at the Music City Motorplex in Nashville. Brad Mueller finished in fourth with 124 laps lead, all of which came in the Budweiser 250. Ryan Lawler finished in fifth with 90 laps lead, all of those came in his victory in the Winchester 400.

The Harris Products Group, a division of Lincoln Electric, will award both drivers with a set of the Harris Products Group Cutting Torches. Both awards will be presented at the 2007 CRA Super Series Awards Banquet in January.
