Speed51.com Puts Up 'Help Wanted' Sign
Popular Short Track Racing Website Looking for "Good Writers" Around
the Country
CONCORD, NC (May 1, 2007)
-
Six years ago, a
little known website called 51SportsRacing.com began writing and
publishing original stories and features on the internet surrounding
two of the biggest short track racing series in the country, the
now-defunct ASA National Tour and the World of Outlaws.
In just a short
amount of time, the site picked up a huge fan following, branched
out
to several other short track racing series and regions, including the
Midwest, Southeast and Northeast, and blossomed into what is now known
as Speed51.com, the nation's leading pavement short track racing
website.
And still today,
the growth at Speed51.com continues. Now, the website is looking for
even more help, in the form of up-and-coming writers, aspiring
journalists and college interns. The website is launching an all-out
campaign to find some talented writers looking to get more involved in
the racing industry.
"This is something
we've wanted to do for a long time and we're finally starting to make
a push for it," said Speed51.com Executive Editor Bob Dillner and
SPEED Broadcaster. "There are so many great short track series out
there. As a website, we can only get to so many on any given
weekend. However, if we have more people that can cover races, we can
get more stories on Speed51.com and better serve the short track
community like they have come to expect from us.
"We are really
looking to get some more help in a couple of specific regions of the
country. We want a little more help in the Southeast, along with some
stringers in the Northeast, the Midwest and possibly even out West.
Short Track Racing is still alive and strong all over this country and
we want to help show people that."
Interested parties
should fax or email a resume and/or writing samples to Jeremy Troiano
in the Speed51.com offices. They can reach Troiano at either
Jeremy@51sports.net or by fax at (704) 788-2091.
"We've already got
a lot of talented writers outside of our full-time family," said Mike
Twist, Editor of Speed51.com. "Guys like Steve Neely, Elgin Traylor,
Jim and Denise DuPont, Dean Strom, Jeremy Davidson, Penny Aicardi and
others have really helped elevate 51 to a level that we never thought
it would be. Now, if we can add to that with even more talented
writers from around the country, then we'll only extend our prominence
and make this an even bigger and better website."
Speed51.com has become a leader in online Motorsports information by
focusing on the Short Track Racing realm. 51 realized more than six
years ago that there was a void in the industry for news and
behind-the-scenes stories. Now, 51 is viewed by thousands of fans per
day. The site fuels your Short Track appetite for NASCAR's Grand
National Divisions, NASCAR Modified Tours, the USAR Pro Cup Series,
and Super Late Models from all across the country and much more.
