A.P. Racing Engines To Sponsor CRA Super Series Event At Toledo Speedway

Salem, IN (May 8, 2007) – CRA Super Series officials have announced that A.P. Racing Engines will be the Sponsor of the CRA Super Series event at Toledo Speedway on Sunday, May 27th. The A.P. Racing Engines 100 will be the 9th CRA Super Series event held at Toledo Speedway. The event will be the second leg of a double-header Memorial Day Weekend. The series will race on Saturday night at Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan.

Last season’s A.P. Racing Engines 100 at Toledo Speedway was originally scheduled for Sunday, July 2, but was postponed because of weather until Friday, August 11th. 2006 CRA Super Series Champion Scott Hantz got his first win of the season in the A.P. Racing Engines 100 that evening. Hantz entered the event with the series points lead with a total of five second place finishes in the first 13 series events, but was still seeking that first win of the season.

Showing his customary patience Hantz moved up through the field by following first Eddie Van Meter for several laps, waiting for his opportunity to get past him as Van Meter's car began to get loose to take second place. He then set his sights on race leader JR Roahrig who started to fade after a shock broke causing him to have handling problems for the duration of the race. Hantz would go on to get the victory with Van Meter in second. Roahrig held on to finish third just ahead of Johnny Belott III in fourth and Chris Gabehart in fifth, those three cars finished in a pack with less than six-tenths of a second separating them.

Headquartered in Windsor, Ontario, A.P. Racing Engines has been a leading manufacturer of racing engines for several years. CRA Super Series feature winning drivers Eddie Van Meter, Jack Landis and Andy Ponstein have raced CRA Super Series events using engines from A.P. Racing Engines. A.P. Racing Engines is also a sponsor of a bonus program at each series event during the 2007 season. A. P. Racing Engines will award any team winning a CRA Super Series event with an A.P. Racing Engines engine purchased new for the 2007 race season or wins a CRA Super Series feature with an engine refreshened by A.P. Racing Engines for the 2007 race season with a $1,000 cash bonus.
