AMS Modifieds added to 5th
Annual Buckeye Bash June 2nd at Columbus Motor Speedway
Howe Racing
Enterprises Posts Bonuses, Serves at Title Sponsor for Modified Race
Columbus, OH (March 9, 2007) –
Officials from Columbus Motor Speedway, JVM Enterprises, American
Modified Series (AMS) and Howe Racing Enterprises announced today that
the American Modified Series would be joining the CRA Super Series at
the 5th Annual Buckeye Bash at Columbus Motor Speedway on
Saturday Night, June 2. The event marks the first ever visit by the
traveling
modified
series to the popular 1/3 mile oval in central Ohio.
"This is something we’ve been working
on for a while, and we’re happy to get all the pieces put together,"
noted event co-promoter Jeff Miller. "We’re taking an already special
event for the fans, with the CRA Super Series Late Model 125, and
adding the Midwest’s top modified drivers in their own special event.
Howe Racing Enterprises has become such a big part of this event, its
great to know that leading Howe drivers Mike Eddy, Tim Ice and Robbie
Pyle will represent them well in the CRA Race. Add to that some
expected surprise entries in the modified race, and I can’t imagine
the fans getting a bigger bang for their buck anywhere!"
Howe Racing Enterprises will serve as
the title sponsor for the
Modified
portion of the event, and has posted some large cash contingencies as
well. "Jeff Miller has represented the Howe name very well in recent
years, and through him and this event, we’ve posted some additional
incentives for the teams utilizing Howe chassis or Howe ductwork
system," Chas Howe of Howe Racing commented. "We are posting a $500
bonus for any modified winning the event with the Howe ductwork
system, and another $500 bonus for any team winning the modified
feature with a Howe chassis. We are also posting a $500 bonus to set
fast time in a Howe modified chassis." Howe has also posted a $1000
bonus for any team that wins the Late Model portion of the Buckeye
Bash in a Howe late model chassis.
The Howe ductwork system is an
attractive and very durable 3 piece radiator duct and valance assembly
with lid, and designed to fit ANY modified chassis. The package is
currently available in black, white, red, and soon in blue. Howe
ductwork systems will save teams many hours of work and money in
replacement costs. Howe chassis and ductwork systems are economical
and available from any Howe dealer.
For AMS officials, the Buckeye Bash
is an event they have wanted to be a part of the last few years, and
are delighted that Howe Racing Enterprises has assisted in making that
happen. According to AMS’s Jeff Herron, "The Buckeye Bash has been a
great race for fans in Ohio, and we enjoy every opportunity we get to
run in the same show with the CRA Super Series teams. To be able to
take our show to Columbus, with Howe’s help, is great for modified
racing as well. Everyone will enjoy seeing the Columbus modifieds
against our AMS teams, as well as teams from other tracks and series."
AMS officials went even farther with their commitment to the Buckeye
Bash when they announced they would not run the weekly, local modified
show at ShadyBowl on that Saturday night, to secure an even better
field of modifieds for the Buckeye Bash.
The complete line-up for the June 2nd
Buckeye Bash will see the CRA Super Series in the Sizzle Marine 125,
the AMS Modifeds in the Howe Racing 50, Sport Stocks, Crazy Compacts
and the wildly popular roll-over contest. For more information about
