Howe CRA Sportsman, CRA Street Stocks and Vore’s Welding & Steel CRA Fwd Compacts All Back In Action Sunday

Salem, IN (June 6, 2007) – The Howe CRA Sportsman, CRA Street Stocks and Vore’s Welding & Steel CRA FWD Compacts all return to action this Sunday at Winchester Speedway in the Randolph County Fan Appreciation Day Presented By Anchor Glass Container. The O’Reilly Auto Parts USA Modifieds will join the CRA divisions and will have a Dash For Cash and a 50 lap feature, the Howe CRA Sportsman will compete in heats and a 40 lap feature, the CRA Street Stocks in heats and a 40 lap feature and the Vore’s Welding & Steel CRA FWD Compacts in a 20 lap feature.

Sunday will be the third event of the season for the Howe CRA Sportsman Series. The first event of the season was on Saturday, May 5th at Winchester Speedway and was won by Stuart Quakenbush while the second event of the season was at Baer Field Speedway on May 20th and was won by Chad Richardson. Billy Hutson is the current points leader for the Howe CRA Sportsman Series with 203 points. Rick Tackman Jr. has now moved into second place in points with 192 while rookie competitor Gabe Cerny drops to third with 187 points. Fellow rookie contender Tim Greene is in fourth with 168 points with rookie contender Randy Casey in fifth with 164 points.

The CRA Street Stocks will be competing for the fourth time in 2007 Sunday. 2006 series Champion Joe Beaver and Frank Kimmel II got victories in the series first two events at Winchester Speedway, while veteran Ft. Wayne racer Steve Christman won the event at Baer Field Speedway on May 20th. Beaver takes over the points lead after Beau Mitchell’s early exit at Baer Field Speedway with a blown motor. Beaver has a one-point lead over Mitchell. In third, only 3 points behind, is the Steve Davis owned entry that was victorious with Christman behind the wheel at Baer Field Speedway and was driven by Calvin Parham in the first two Winchester Speedway events. Shawn Bonar is tied for fourth with Brian Hopkins, they are only seven points out of first in a very tight points battle for the CRA Street Stocks 2007 Championship.

The Vore’s Welding & Steel CRA FWD Compacts are ready for their third event of the season. Randy Owen and Derek Young are tied as the series point’s leaders with 190 points each. Owen got the victory at Baer Field Speedway after the top two finishers Rex Zimmerman and Jordan Flynn did not pass post race tech. Bill Charles is third in points only 2 points behind the leaders with Greg St. Jean in fourth 4 points behind and Jordan Flynn in fifth only 8 points behind in another tight points battle. Owen and Young will have the option along with Sunday’s feature event pole sitter to go to the tail of the starting field to try and win the R & R Liquors Safe Driving Challenge Bonus, which has grown to $300 after not being claimed in the two season opening events.

Pit gates open for Sunday’s event at 8am, spectator gates at 10am, practice will begin at 10:30am, with the race program beginning at 2pm. Randolph County Residents will be admitted for only $5 with proper ID. More information is available at www.winchesterspeedway.com or at www.craracing.net.
