CRA Street Stocks Competitors Have Good Run In Firecracker 200 At Salem Speedway
 
Salem, IN (July 5, 2007) - Several CRA Street Stock competitors had good runs in Wednesday's Firecracker 200 event at Salem Speedway. The event was won by third generation driver Frank Kimmel II, son of 8 time ARCA RE/MAX Series Champion Frank Kimmel. Kimmel II won the CRA Street Stock event at Winchester Speedway on May 6th, it was his first ever feature win in a street stock. Kimmel II got the lead late in the event when leader Brett Hudson had problems on a restart.
 
Brian Hopkins, currently sixth in CRA Street Stock points, finished in second and was one of only three cars remaining on the lead lap. Rich Boyer, currently second in series points finished in fourth, one lap down. Calvin Parham, who drivers for series fourth place in points owner Steve Davis, finished 14th after running as high as second before driveline problems sidelined him late in the event.
 
Beau Mitchell, a five time 2006 CRA Street Stock winner at Winchester Speedway, finished in 15th after running in the front of the field most of the event before suffering mechanical problems that also ended his day late in the event resulting in a 15th place finish.
 
Champion Racing Association Co-owner R.J. Scott made his 2007 racing debut in the Firecracker 200 on Wednesday. Scott, a veteran of the famed Halloween 200 also at Salem Speedway, fought through some early issues with his car to have his day end on lap 170 with transmission problems while running in the top 10. Scott finished in 19th despite missing the last 30 laps of the event.
