Howe CRA
Sportsman Head To The Buckeye State For Saturday’s Show Down At Shady
Bowl Speedway
Salem, IN (July 25, 2007) –
The Howe CRA Sportsman will head to the Buckeye state for its first
ever event outside the state of Indiana this Saturday at Shady Bowl
Speedway in DeGraff, Ohio. The 3/10 mile unique oval always provides
great racing action on a track were the driver counts the most.
Shady
Bowl Speedway was a former stop on the CRA Super Series schedule from
2001 through the 2004 season. The CRA Super Series had several first
time series winners at that track including Jim Crabtree Jr., Steve
Moenck and Chuck Barnes Jr.
Billy Hutson comes into this
Saturday’s event with a 43-point lead over Rick Rinehart in Howe CRA
Sportsman Championship points. Rinehart held off a hard charging
Charlie Hanna to get a narrow victory in the series last event this
past Sunday at Winchester Speedway after early leader Steve Blair
suffered ignition problems ending his day. Saturday will be the sixth
event of the season so far for the Howe CRA Sportsman, there have been
five different winners in the series five events to date including
Rinehart, Hutson and Stuart Quakenbush at the Winchester Speedway
events while Chad Richardson got the win at Baer Field Speedway and
Steve Blair the win at Anderson Speedway.
Rinehart’s
win has put him in second place in the Howe CRA Sportsman points,
seven points ahead of rookie competitor Tim Greene in third, who only
holds a three-point advantage over rookie Gabe Cerny in fourth. The
Wisconsin Cowboy, Rick Tackman Jr. is currently in fifth place after
suffering ignition problems in Sunday’s event. Charlie Hanna has moved
into sixth in points, Eric Barcus is seventh, Terry Fisher Jr. falls
to eighth after a blown motor kept him from racing Sunday’s feature.
Justin Trinkle is ninth with Randy Casey in tenth.
Pit gates open Saturday at Shady Bowl
Speedway at 3pm, practice begins at 4pm, with qualifying at 5pm. The
race program begins at 7pm and will include heat races and the
Stapleton Automotive 75 for the Howe CRA Sportsman. For more
