Speed51.com Gets a Pre-Season Makeover
Short Track
Racing Website is Now Brighter, Easier to Read and Faster to Load
CONCORD, NC (February 7, 2007)
–
This is the time
of the year when many racecars get a fresh coat of paint and a new set
of decals or when a driver might order up a fresh new racing suit.
New
looks are being prepared and modeled in time for the start of the 2007
racing season.
Speed51.com is
following that pattern this year as well. The popular short track
racing website debuted today a new design with bright colors and easy
to read graphics taking center stage.
“I’m really pumped
about the new design,” said 51’s Matt Dillner, who led the redesign
efforts. “Our site has become a big part of the short track racing
community and we really wanted to make it more user-friendly and
easier to navigate. It’s sort of like bringing your racecar to the
track at a season-opener with a slick new paint scheme… it’s something
to be proud of and that’s the feeling we all have with the new-look
Speed51.com.”
Fans will find
many advantages to the new site.
“It’s cleaner and
it’s faster… that’s the bottom line,” said Dillner. “I think that
some of the new features make the site more interesting as well. “The
Skinny” is probably my favorite improvement. It replaces the old
ticker and allows us to bring you more quick news bits that you can
access with one click of a button. I navigate the site daily, as a
fan of short track racing, and wanted more from the site. Now I think
we’ve responded.”
“Visiting
Speed51.com is already more fun,” said Mike Twist, Editor of
Speed51.com. “The first thing that fans will notice are brighter
colors and bigger photos. But, it’s not all about what looks good
either. The new design allows us to showcase more stories to fans in
a way that makes everything easier to find. Fans can also find what
races are coming up next, what the short track “skinny” of the day is
and a ton of other information about short track racing.”
In addition to the
stories and race coverage on Speed51.com, another source of valuable
information are the links to various sponsors of the site, which are
now more highly visible.
“There’s more
visibility now for our sponsors with the new site and that is a good
thing for everyone,” said Twist. “Our site is all about racing and
our advertisers are all racing people. All of the sponsors are a
great source to find what you need for your racecar, team or racing
lifestyle.”
Speed51.com has become a leader in online Motorsports information by
focusing on the Short Track Racing realm. 51 realized nearly five
years ago that there was a void in the industry for news and
behind-the-scenes stories. Now, 51 is viewed by thousands of fans per
day. The site fuels your Short Track appetite for NASCAR's Grand
National Divisions, NASCAR Modified Tours, the USAR Pro Cup Series,
Super Late Models from all across the country and much more.
