Salem, IN (December 18, 2007) – Appleton Rack & Pinion will once again sponsor the CRA Super Series Fast Qualifier Award for the upcoming 2008 season. Appleton Rack & Pinion will award the Fast Qualifier of each CRA Super Series event with a $100 bonus, except for the Winchester 400 Presented By Ed Martin Auto Group and Renegade and the All American 400 in Nashville, at those events the Fast Qualifier will receive a $200 cash bonus.

During the 2007 season CRA Super Series Champion Chris Gabehart was the Appleton Rack & Pinion Fast Qualifier a series leading four times including setting a new track record at the Columbus Motor Speedway event. Texas native Ryan Lawler was second with two Appleton Rack & Pinion Fast Qualifier Awards including a new track record at Winchester Speedway during the Winchester 400 weekend, an event that Lawler went on to win. There were eight drivers who claimed one Appleton Rack & Pinion Fast Qualifier Award in 2007 including new track record holders Brian Campbell at Berlin Raceway, Scott Hantz at Baer Field Speedway, and Evan Jackson at O’Reilly Raceway Park.

In 1978 George Appleton founded the company Appleton Chassis. After building chassis for many years for both dirt and asphalt he decided to build a rack and pinion that would meet his high standards. He wanted to make the best possible rack and pinion but still keep the price down. He sold more than expected and started to concentrate more on the rack and pinion assembly than the whole chassis. Soon, he changed his business name to Appleton Rack and Pinion, Inc. located in Minooka, Illinois. George would then bring his youngest son, Fred, into the business. Fred later became the president of the company. Today, Fred's oldest son Jayson is Vice President also.
