Motorcycle Stunt
Show And Racing This Sunday At Winchester Speedway
Winchester, IN (August 7, 2007)
– This Sunday the High Banks of Historic Winchester Speedway will
feature a Motorcycle Stunt Show and four different divisions of
exciting racing action. Team Stuntmetal Extreme Motorcycle Stunt Crew
will be performing extreme stunt riding and challenging maneuvers with
their Freestyle Sportbikes on the front-stretch of Winchester
Speedway. The group did a preview performance at the 2007 season
opener at Winchester Speedway, bringing the crowd to their feet with
their
entertaining
stunts and challenging maneuvers. Sunday’s performance will be a full
30-minute show featuring some new exciting stunts.
Sunday will also be the first ever
race at Winchester Speedway for the Bollhoff Rivnut Super Pro Late
Model Series in a 75-lap feature event. Veteran Ft. Wayne racer Tommy
Cook currently leads the series points followed by Michael Gaier in
second, Mark Kortz in third, and Al Cook Jr. in fourth. Al Cook Jr.
got a win with the Howe CRA Sportsman last season at Winchester
Speedway. Kevin Todd is in fifth place in points followed by Colin
Toland in sixth, Rob Buckley, winner of the series last event on
Friday, August 3 at Baer Field Speedway in seventh, Michael Totino in
eighth, Jason Dietsch in ninth and Royce Mason II in tenth. All the
top ten drivers in points are expected Sunday along with several teams
wanting to get experience on the High Banks since this is the first of
three shows for this series at Winchester Speedway this season.
The American Modified Series will
make its first visit of the 2007 season to Winchester Speedway this
Sunday. A full field of Modifieds is expected for heat races and a 50
lap feature lead by current points leader Bud Perry. Josh Smith is
currently second in points, Mike Carroll is third, Chad Poole is
fourth, Greg Stapleton is fifth, Dean Pitts is sixth, with legendary
Dick Dunlevy Jr. in seventh. Rob Yelton is eighth, Ross Klingelhofer
is ninth with Jim Lewis Jr. in tenth. Several of the USA Modified
drivers are also expected to compete in Sunday’s event after their
race on Saturday night at ORP. Jason Dietsch will be doing double duty
in the Super Pro Late Models and the American Modifieds.
Sunday’s racing action will also
include the Howe CRA Sportsman in their seventh event of the season.
The series has had six different winners in its first six events
including Rick Rinehart, Billy
Hutson
and Stuart Quakenbush at the Winchester Speedway events while Chad
Richardson got the win at Baer Field Speedway, Steve Blair the win at
Anderson Speedway, and Nathan Herron the win at the series last event
on July 28th at Shady Bowl Speedway. Billy Hutson is the
series point’s leader with a 45-point leader over Rick Rinehart.
Rookie Tim Green is third, with fellow rookie competitors Gabe Cerny
in fourth and Charlie Hanna in fifth. Hanna has been on a roll with
second place finishes in the series last two events, he hopes to get
his first series victory this Sunday.

Compacts will also be in action. It will be their first event since
the June 10th event at Winchester Speedway were Greg De St.
Jean was victorious. Derick Young came in second with Randy Owen in
third, Bill Leisure in fourth and Troy Timms in fifth. De St. Jean is
the third different winner in three series events so far this season.
Jordan Flynn won the season opener at Winchester Speedway while Randy
Owen got the win at Baer Field Speedway. Owen is the current points
leader and will have the option along with Sunday’s feature event pole
sitter to go to the tail of the starting field to try and win the R &
R Liquors Safe Driving Challenge Bonus, which has grown to $400 after
not being claimed in the first three events. Derick Young is second in
points, only five behind Owen. De St. Jean is one more point back in
third with Bobby Sanders is fourth and Bill Leisure is fifth.
Pit gates will open at 8am on Sunday,
Spectator gates open at 10am, practice will begin at 10:30am with
Qualifying at 12:30pm. The race program will begin at 2pm. Go to
