Schererville, IN- Speedway officials are hoping
the third time is the charm as the CRA Super Series cars invade the
Illiana Motor Speedway this Saturday night August 11th
for the 6th annual Elmer Musgrave Memorial 100 presented
by Texas Corral Bar & Grill which was postponed from June 23rd
and then again on June 24th due to unfavorable
weather conditions. “The weather just would not cooperate back in
June and Mother Nature is one person you cannot fight” Stated Jan
Baranak (Chief Scorer) “Were really looking forward to the high
powered Super Late Models back in action Saturday night”.
The Musgrave event is held in the memory
and honor of the late Elmer Musgrave, who passed away at the age of
72 on September 20, 2000. Musgrave was a long-time Chicagoland
stock car competitor, racing at tracks throughout the Midwest and
the Chicago area. Musgrave was the father of 2005 NASCAR Craftsman
Truck Series Champion—Ted Musgrave. A special 35-lap limited late
model feature and 4-cylinder Pure Stocks will also be on the night’s
card.
