CRA Super Series Announces Weight Change For Berlin Raceway Event

Salem, IN (August 22, 2007) - As part of The CRA Super Series continuing effort to create a fair and competitive racing environment, series officials have announced rule changes specifically for the upcoming event at Berlin Raceway. These changes are to address the discrepancies, which exist between the 23 degree 9:1 and the 18 degree 9:1, Southern Steel Head and the McGunegill Sealed Engine Packages. This rules amendment is brought about by the unique nature of Berlin Raceway, and therefore will be in effect for that event only.

The following engine combinations will utilize a base weight of 2775 pounds:

The 18 degree 9:1 with either approved version of the 390 carburetor.

The Series approved McGunegill Sealed Engine package.

The Southern Steel-Head engine.

The 23 degree 9:1 with series approved modified 390 carburetor may race at 2775 pounds or if utilizing the unaltered version, 2750 pounds.

"Berlin Raceway is a racetrack that puts great emphasis on handling," stated Series Director Glenn Luckett, "We realized that our rules package was penalizing teams for having horsepower that they can't even use at that race track configuration. Our goal is to bring the 18 degree 9:1's and the Sealed Engines closer to the 23 degree 9:1's that have been successful there in the past."

Entries have been mailed and are available on line at craracing.net for the upcoming $7500 to win Boyne Machine 125 Presented By Spray Power Multi-Purpose Cleaner, as part of the second annual Boyne Machine Weekend at Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan on Friday September 14th and Saturday September 15th.
