Sportsman To Race An Additional Event At Baer Field Speedway
Salem, IN (August 29, 2007) –
Champion Racing Association officials have announced that an event has
been added to the 2007 Howe CRA Sportsman Series schedule, the series
will race an additional event at Baer Field Speedway on Saturday,
September 15th. Baer Field Speedway has been
the
sight of two series events already this season with high car counts at
both events. Chad Richardson won the May 20th series event
while Zach Hulvey got the series win on August 18th at Baer
Field Speedway.
With Hulvey’s win, the series has now
had eight different winners in its first eight events in the 2007
season. The series other winners so far in 2007 include Rick Rinehart,
Billy Hutson, Stuart Quakenbush and Charlie Hanna at the Winchester
Speedway events. Chad Richardson got the win at the other Baer Field
Speedway event in May, Steve Blair the win at Anderson Speedway, and
Nathan Herron the win at Shady Bowl Speedway.
Billy Hutson continues to lead the
series points after eight events, with now four events left in the
season including this Monday’s Maple-Tarr 40 at Winchester Speedway as
part of the Labor Day Weekend World Stock Car Festival. Rick Rinehart
continues to apply the pressure in second, but will have to over come
a 38-point deficit to challenge for the points Championship. Rookie
Charlie Hanna has now moved into third place but is 51 points behind
Rinehart with fellow rookie Tim Greene 25 points behind in fourth
place. Rookie Gabe Cerny is in fifth place in points, 57 points behind
Greene.
Pit gates will open at the added Baer
Field Speedway event at 1pm, practice will begin at 2:30 with
qualifying at 5pm. The race program will begin at 7pm and will include
heat races and a 50 lap feature. More information on the series is
