JACKSON MAKES USAR HOOTERS PRO
CUP DEBUT THIS WEEKEND
Joins Stout Field of 50 Drivers in South Boston, Va.
CINCINNATI, Ohio (April 9, 2007) – Danny Jackson,
the 2006 CRA Super Series Late Model “Rookie of the Year,” will make
his debut on the USAR Hooters Pro Cup series this Saturday at South
Boston Speedway in Virginia. Promoters are expecting one of the
toughest fields with nearly 50 drivers qualifying for the 32-car
field.
Jackson, fresh off test sessions in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Xenia,
Ohio, enters the race with a new sponsor, Beamer Brothers Trucking
Company of Sharonville, Ohio.
“The car tested really good in the last few weeks, so we’re really
excited about racing this Saturday and making my Pro Cup debut,”
said Jackson. “I go into this race as I do with any other race, to
win it. I know I still have a lot to learn, but I’ve proven myself
over the last few years and truly believe I can be competitive in a
tough series like Hooters Pro Cup.”
“Beamer Brothers Trucking is proud and excited to be a part of Danny
Jackson Racing,” said company vice president Todd Beamer. “This is
the first time we have done a sponsorship like this and hope it’s a
partnership for many years to come.”
Jackson, a 23-year-old third-generation racecar driver from
Cincinnati, Ohio, will be driving a Pro Cup car formerly driven by
Johnny Rumley, a veteran who’s won multiple Pro Cup and NASCAR Busch
Series races. Along with new sponsor Beamer Brothers Trucking, the
team welcomes back Lykins Companies Inc., Redbank Transport,
Tri-State Sterling Trucks Inc. and Ultra Lube.
“This has seemed like one of the longest off-seasons ever so I’m
anxious to get back on the track and bring home a good showing for
my team, sponsors and fans,” added Jackson.
In addition to the 2006 CRA “Rookie of the Year” moniker, Jackson
has amassed several achievements in a short time. He received the
2005 ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series “Rookie of the Year” honor,
winning once on the series that year in Middlebourne, W.Va. He was
the 2005 Legends Car Pro Asphalt National Champion. In 2006, he
added two more ARCA Truck victories, winning at Winchester (Indiana)
Speedway and Kentucky Speedway.
The Farmer’s Foods 250 presented by Eaton Corporation is scheduled
for Saturday, April 14 at 7 p.m. at South Boston Speedway, South
Boston, Va. The 250 lap, 100 mile race is the first event on the
Sears Auto Center Northern Division circuit of the USAR Hooters Pro
Cup. The race will be broadcast on SPEED Wednesday, April 25 at 4
p.m. eastern, with a replay Friday, April 27 at 12 noon.
