Street Stocks Return To Action This Sunday At Winchester Speedway
Salem, IN (May 4, 2006)
– The Max 93.5/96.7 CRA Street Stocks return to action this Sunday at
Winchester Speedway. The Max 93.5/96.7 CRA Street Stocks will join the
ARCA RE/MAX Series in
 providing
fans an exciting afternoon of stock car racing action on the famous
High Banks of Winchester Speedway.
Owensboro, Kentucky native Beau
Mitchell was the winner of the last Max 93.5/96.7 CRA Street Stock
event at Winchester Speedway on Sunday, April 23rd.
Mitchell made a great outside pass of Brian Hopkins in turns three and
four to take the lead and eventually the victory. Hopkins held on to
finish second in that event with fast qualifier Joe Beaver in third,
Rich Boyer in fourth and Rod Phipps in fifth.
 Anderson,
Indiana native Rich Boyer is the current point leader on the strength
of his fourth place finish on April 23rd and his win in the
series season opening 250-lap event on April 8th at
Anderson Speedway. Rod Phipps is currently second in points, only two
behind Boyer with his fifth place finish on April 23rd and
a second place finish on April 8th. Joe Beaver currently
sits in third place in points, only three points out of first after
getting back to back third place finishes in the series first two
events. Beau Mitchell is currently fourth in points, only nine points
behind Boyer while Brian Hopkins sets in fifth place, only fourteen
points out of first.
A total of 56 teams have already
competed with the Max 93.5/96.7 CRA Street Stocks in the series first
two events. The series will run a total of 12 races in 2006 at five
different racetracks. Sunday’s 50-lap feature at Winchester Speedway
will pay $1000 to win. The series will have a 200-lap event on
September 17th that will pay $5000 to win.
Pit gates open on Sunday for the Max
93.5/96.7 CRA Street Stocks at 7am. Practice and qualifying for the
Max 93.5/96.7 CRA Street Stocks will take place between 11am and
12:30pm. There will be no heat races, just a 50-lap feature on Sunday
after the ARCA 200 Presented By Construct Corp. The fast qualifier
will draw for an invert of 8, 10 or 12 for the feature.
