April 30, 2006 - After three
weeks racing on the road, the 21Racing Team was looking forward to
it's homecoming at Berlin. No long hauls to the track, no cheap
hotel rooms, and seeing familiar faces was something the whole team
looked forward to. However, a tight race car made the whole
homecoming one which we'd like to forget.
We new we were in for a long night in
practice when the laps times were well
off
the other late models. John Van Doorn said it was the tightest car
he's ever driven. Some major changes were in order....and they did
not produce any better results. The #21
Magic Transportation,
Remembrance Church,
Robert W.
Baird/Tom Honor late model timed in a disappointing 24th. The
team made more major changes in an effort to loosen the car up for
the heat race, all of which did not work.
John started the late model feature in
24th place and struggled from the drop of the green flag. He
finally pulled in on lap 32, opting to stay out of the way of the
drivers racing for points this season at Berlin.
To the family,friends, and sponsors
that came out this weekend, we apologize ....thanks for your
support, and look for the #21 car to be alot better our next trip
out to Berlin
